Hi there, I'm new to this and started growing about a month ago with my first seeds. I've posted my initial setup in here...
I've got one successful seedling growing so far, with a couple more germinated seeds that will hopefully join this first one soon, if all goes well.
Do you all think that this seedling looks healthy?

My first eggshell sprout came up today.

A quick update on my little one and the new baby.

The first sprout is doing really well and the second one might breach the soil soon, but it is going very slowly. I had some small mushrooms suddenly pop up when I checked up on it during the evening, which weren't there in the morning, wondering what they could be?

My first plant has increasingly been yellowing over the last couple of days. I found a thermometer and have measured values between 29 - 35°C, which is apparently a bit on the high end. I will try to find a way to cool it down to about 25°C somehow, perhaps with additional ventilation of some sort. I still don't have a ph testing kit, but I did manage to acquire some peat moss, a layer of which I have added to both the first plant and my new seedling's soil. I also sprinkled a bit of epsom salts to both before watering today. I have been very careful to prevent overwatering and trying to completely dry out the soil in between watering. I added some kelp liquid fertilizer to the more mature plant's water. This is my first time adding additional nutrients to this grow, which is now about one month old, although the soil is reused from my vegetable garden (2 months old).

I added some additional top and bottom passive vents to my grow enclosure (without fans as I don't have any more fans to use) to try and better regulate the temperatures. I have been measuring 23°C - 33°C, so hopefully this mod will knock the temps down a couple of degrees. The plants are doing okay. The big one is now exactly 3 weeks old and still a bit yellow. The small one is 1 week old and looking great.

Yes, it is just normal heavy duty cooking foil.

suggest to ditch it mate, reflects heat mostly, not light. check for mylar emergency blanket, you should have one in the first aid kit in your car

Thanks for the input mate. I'm going to hold on to the setup as is for now to observe the performance over the next week or so with the additional vents. So far it looks to be doing all right. Daily fluctuation with light cycle currently between 21-31°C at the extremes, mostly at about 25-28°C. I was initially slightly concerned about the high heat reflectance of aluminium foil but I am getting really nice light reflectance as well, and with the CFL, my temps are now within the acceptable ranges. I definately would not go with the foil if I had higher energy bulbs, such as HID bulbs. Unfortuantely I have no mylar equivalent on hand.

Just a quick update following the additional vent installation. Temps appear to be stabilising between 29-30°C max during lights on. Just wondering now what would be the best solution for my adhoc humidity control? The current glass jar with water and towel, or rather the previous solution with water and a towel in the large drip tray? Any suggestions?

well basically its up to you man, just trying to help. it just creates hot spots, coz its designed for cooking. i doubt you are going to cook them with fluros as you said, but still. hopefully you will fetch some mylar soon. good luck
EDIT* btw, one of your plants is either OW or it needs N, most probably the second.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the input and I will definately keep modding this space as much as possible when possible. I think it might be OW and need for N, so I haven't watered that one in 3 days. Will do a proper soak with ferts as soon as the soil is well dried.

So I just realised a major noob error. I assumed liquid Kelp fert would contain enough, if not some N, but now I know it doesn't. The only other liquid food I have is an Orchid food with a 45/60/60 NPK content. I fed the struggling one some of this after giving her some Kelp and epsom salts and topping a layer of peat moss. So that is two full soaks right after each other (the leaves had quite a bit of drooping after thr feeding) . This was the their first watering in 3 days. She definately looks a bit stunted, progressing surely but slowly, no where near what I have seen on other people's grows. Although it still looks kind of happy and firm. I have big hopes for the littler one.
