Need some powdery mildew advice

Hi, i noticed a few days ago that i had powdery mildew,
not knowing what to do i began removing the effected leaves.

My plants have just started budding, with nice white hairs coming out .

I was thinking of using the Baking Soda + water method, and spraying them with it.

I had also read that one method used baking soda and milk,
i am quite confused as to which non-toxic method to use

Im lucky that it hasnt touched my buds yet


Anyways, i would like one that is safe to spray on the buds as well as leaves incase it get it on there .


Can someone point me to a solution? Thanks

no thanks, its not widespread enough . theres plenty of articles and advice on here on how to , i just would like to know the best way.

NukeEm is a solid product. It's citric acid based and works. I just mix my own stuff using bulk citric acid.

Nobody is telling you to kill your plants. Citric acid is a good remedy for bugs and PM. Used in the right amounts. Of course using too high of a concentration is going to hurt your plants just like anything else. 2.5 tsp per quart of citric acid will not harm your plants nor will a commercial product like NukeEm or Dr Zymes both of which are citric acid based as long as you use as directed.

That sounds good. I guess ill try the Nukeem. Ive never really used anything like this before
Hence when you guys said Nukeem, i thought you meant cut them down haha

This is my first grow in 10 years. Outdoors. My previous were all indoors.

Ive been cutting the leaves effected with PM off, but i think i went a little too far at this point.

In application of this product, would I be able to use an old clean Windex bottle to spray the plant?

Yes you can use any spray bottle that's clean. I'd wash that out a few times with soap and water finished with a vinegar rinse and it will be fine to use. Make sure to spray through it significantly during the washing process.

Google Nukem and you get a link to the Flying Skull site that has all the information about the product. It's OMRI and approved for use on commercial crops in states like Oregon where it's produced.

I've had perfect results using " Banish fungicide" ....I've used only 4 different times...so far, so good. It's a geranium oil extract that actually kills PM, which most fungicides don't.. I do always catch it very early , gotta check those gals constantly plus I scope the shit out of my plants. 30 bucks for 2ounces of concentrate. Only 0.5 mis per 16ounces of water for foiliar spray.....just that much covers a lot of area. Makes 15 gallons. I personally, think it's very safe after reviewing MSDS sheets, products of combustion, residuals etc. Everybody has their own way, tons of opinions.

I sprayed the Nuke Em yesterday, everything today looks 1000% better. the leaves are perking up again like they used to and believe it or not i feel ike they're greener.

im just wondering how often i can do this?

I recommend adding silica to all your grows as a way to increase protection to plant from pathogens such as PM.
One of the best ways to help with preventative measures . Potassium bicarbonate is another method to combat PM .

may I ask what concentration is your citric sitting at in bulk? I have 50%…close to that for the 2.5 tsp/quart? Ty

Ive been told that 2% milk watered down, give it a nice foliage spray on the affected leaves/area itself in a fine mist spray bottle(with no sun/heat lamps to avoid any possible magnification burns,) let sit like 15 mins and carefully wipe away the milk/mold, use gloves and different towels/rags as needed to not spread the mold around. ...anyone else ever heard of this method ? Also supposedly helps fortify the calcium levels and prevent future infections from bugs/bacterias

I use 100% food grade citric acid. 2.5 tsp per quart of water. That concentration won't harm your plants.

I've found that spraying potassium silicate regularly also helps prevent PM when used as a preventative outdoors.

What do you mean by fully clean after the run? Is there something different or special i should do during harvest?

I can also use NukeEm on the day of harvest or the day before harvest too right? (if i needed it)

So far the Nuke Em its been working extremely well and my plants are loving it.

Whats interesting is that if i had never gotten PM, i'd have never known how to fight it correctly, and now i do.
