NEW HAMPSHIRE, too late?

Hey again. Former member from ages ago. 2008-2012. Have left the growing community for quite some time.

I am relocating during this strange time in the world to new england.
Looking to start an outdoor grow from seed when I arrive. Is it too late in the season to do so? Any new hampshire growers here?
What am I looking at realistically.

Not too late at all. I'm in MA and I just dropped my seeds yesterday to get them started. They won't go outdoors until late May at the earliest. The weather here is cold and shitty right now. Its my first year growing outdoors but there's a lot of New England growers on here so there's plenty of info if you dig around. I'm doing a couple autos hoping they'll finish in August so I can avoid the fall nor'easters.

Plenty of time still, a lot of people sell clones up here if you want to go that route. I am in southern Maine and mine will be going in around the third week of May.

I would definitely be interested in that route. Time is an issue, wont be leaving for another week or so and then I have to get everything in order in a short amount of time.

Right on. I did some autoflowers back when they were fairly new and I was not impressed. Things have probably changed. Hopefully to get a harvest with a regular flowering schedule plant.

Yeah I was originally going to do a nice photo indica with a short flowering period but I decided to get dialed in with some autos this season then try a longer grow next year. Auto genetics have improved immensely over the last few years especially from certain breeders like Mephisto and Wicked Pissah which is what I'm growing now but at some point I want to try for a tree instead of a bush haha.

Good luck with your grow man! And your love to NH. Hopefully they get their shit together and legalize it this year.

Where is the place to get seeds these days? Considering time is a factor, what's the cheapest and fastest route for auto flowering seeds?

Unfortunately the two places I would normally recommend buying autoflower seeds are the aforementioned Mephisto and Wicked Pissah, but they are both sold out right now. Both sell direct, have great prices and quick shipping. I'm growing them for the first time now but have heard nothing but great things about their genetics. Wicked Pissah is right in Maine too. According to the MephHeads subreddit Mephisto should be restocking May 4th but they sell out fast so you'll want to make sure you get an order in quick.

But your really not in a rush man. You have plenty of time for a photo or auto. I'm mainly running autos because I already had them.

My two favorite seedbanks these days are JBC Seeds and Great Lakes Genetics. JBC ships much quicker though and has more payment options. Neither carry autoflowers but have a ton of good breeders and give great freebies with each order.

Curious why you would start outdoor autos so early?

For one, I'm coming from california and misjudged the growing season there. I still have to acquire seeds and get them going so I dont believe I'm jumping the gun at all. I'll be doing autos and regular photo grow , the autos are to guarentee a mature harvest with the shorter growing season there. After talking to some folks I dont think I'll have an issue finishing the photos either. Might have to cut them short depending on frost/weather that isnt foreseeable right now.

Thanks for responding

Get some fast finishing photos. You could also find clones up here and be that much further ahead. I hear 207genetics has some nice autos and fems and they are local to us up here in New england

As in starting them indoors so early or putting them outside in late May is so early?
Starting indoors so early. I don’t start mine until end of May and they go outside June 10th or so. Like to get them outside as quickly as possible and stay clear of the frost and sometimes shitty May weather. Guess it doesn’t really matter if you have a good light setup inside.

Yeah, I do most of my growing indoors so I'm all geared up for them. I probably did jump the gun though. This is my first real attempt at an outdoor grow.

I've tried to explain this a few times in a couple different threads before giving up. Northeast and Downeast are very different growing climates compared to southern Maine. Driving down I95 during the summer, you can literally feel the temps drop off as you pass Augusta.

Were you able to acquire seeds yet? You are not jumping the gun...at all. I like my plants to be a minimum of 6 inches tall before I start to harden them off for life outside. You don't any special grow equipment either. You can keep seedlings healthy under minimal light.
