there's an updated rspec with 700w and far red lighting that's currently only available in Australia, supposedly to be released elsewhere at a later time.

i can't find any info or news, but i have noticed the original rspec for as low as $809 now.

I'm looking to replace the 600w hps in my 4x4 with led for heat reasons and I've been eying the rspec. i was planning on doing it this week as my next flower cycle starts in a couple weeks.

the price is attractive but the sudden drop makes me wonder if there's better stuff just over the hill and if I should wait or just stfu and pull the trigger.

does anyone know about this? I'm guessing it will be in the $1200 range US if the aussie one is $1700. i can't understand why all the hush hush though and i have no idea when I'll be able to get my hands on it.

I dont understand why the blackbird is priced significantly lower than the rspec.
μmol/joule is higher with the blackbird, but ppf is lower..Dont those numbers usually move together?

IDK, the blackbird has a dead link to the lab report and the web page numbers for ppf and efficacy are different from those in the manual. It has a smaller footprint and is 17.5 pounds vs 31 for the scorpion. Different spectrum too.

I saw that the overall dimensions were different.
Footprint appears the same, but distance from the canopy is different.
Weird that the blackbird appeared with little fanfare, but has better than average stats.... From what they do tell you
