Hey guys!

New to this forum and also to DWC growing. I’ve never grown Canabis before and figured why not start with a DWC project. I don’t expect a 100% great grow , I know mistakes will be made and that’s ok. I’ll learn from them for the next time.

This is my setup

36x20x62 Vivosun grow tent
600w LED light.
4in 195cfm fan
8 in air stone
Air pump
General hydroponics nutrients
Root rooter
Hydroton

below are some pictures of my setup and stages.4D11DE37-D050-4C6B-84F5-12561D307336.jpegCA83917F-65AC-4106-A77B-F79E78288174.jpeg637FBD6C-566C-48F5-9BD9-111CC8A6EAF7.jpegDB768915-2C80-4643-B7D2-FC224A00D70B.jpeg

I have her at a PH of 5.7-6.0 and ppm right now is about 450 also have 1 frozen water bottle in the res. I plan on keeping the Ppm’s at 450 for a while.

Only question I have is I’m Not really sure when I should be raising the PPM level tho. I’ve read at the second stage of veg, but not really sure when that is.

Thanks guys! I’ll keep adding pics to this as the process continues! Can’t wait for her to be done.

Thumbs up for the root riots! they are the fucking bomb.
As for the PPM's, dont worry about it, at all, 450 might be even too high for a seedling if you ask me... might as well just give her plain water with CalMag. 450 PPM is more suitable in a later stage when the plant has at least 4-5 nodes on it, and as i've said dont stress about PPM, best practice is to give them the MINIMUM they need to thrive, its better to be on the lower side than over feed and cause all kinds of different issues for you, if your plant is hungry, it'll tell you about it (yellowing etc..) just keep an eye on it, and deffinetly lower the ppms for now about 200-250.
what is the temp of the res without the frozen bottle?

Ya I love those root starters, they hold the water great without being over dampened. The res temp without the water is getting to 77-80. I have the light 18 inches away from the plant. Was thinking of wrapping the outside with duct tape, Read that has helped keep The temps inside the res lower. Just checked her This Morning and the the ph was ABOUT 6.2 so I lowered down to 5.7 and checked the ppm’s before work and they were floating right around 450’s.

When I first started I had the ppm’s at 700!!!!! Had that for a day and I said something doesn’t feel right so I did a res change and lowered them to 450. Now if I want to lower them again to 250 let’s say can I just add PH’ed water onto the res to dilute it some or do I have to do a full res change again.

Also I cannot get the humidity past 47% in my tent, not sure how much that’s effecting the plant but if it does I’ll invest in a humidifier.

Looks good man. But a hint. All the ppl seem to comment if the light is not in led. And it’s harsh for the eyes after
If you go in the tent without sunglasses and work in there it will really mess with your vision. I wear sunglasses every time I enter the tent

Yea 47% humidity is kinda low especially for veg you want it like 60-65 then around 55-60 for flower, the bright side is that you dont have to invest in a DEhumidifier which is much more expensive.

And topping off with plain phed water would do the trick to lower down res ppm's.

ph can flactuate between 5.7-6.5 in veg and 5.8-6.2 in flower, its all good.

Yeah as mentioned mate cut the nutes in half.
Then you just wait for the ppm to start dropping. That shows the plant is absorbing a higher concentration than what's there.
Once that happens go up 50% and wait for it to start dropping again.
Not much else to it really. Just follow the number on the magic stick like a monkey.
Number goes up add more water.
Number goes down by more than like 10% in a day, add more nutes.
Easy peasy :)
Make sure you're using hydroguard or something like that to stop gunk growing.
Empty res every 7-10 days.
Pretty hard to go wrong :)

Ya once I get home from work and the lights come on at 3pm I’ll put a humidifier in there and lower the ppm’s done to 250 ish and see where she goes in the week at that setting

thank you guys for the help on here, been reading up a lot and test and tuning stuff out

Yeah it's a bit of a learning curve mate. Especially when most of us do things differently. Kinda hard to get a straight answer a lot of the time but it doesn't take long to get dialed in. You'll know everything you need to by the end of grow no2 :)

So I have a 190cfm fan right now for the size of the tent which is a 3x2x5 tent I noticed if I shut the fan off my humidity climbs to 60-70% which is awesome, but once it’s on it drops to about 52% humidity. Also noticed that there is a lot of suction happening in the tent when everything is closed. Kinda worried cuz the light is touching the tent.

I opened one of the side vents and it fixes the suction issue but still low humidity. Added a humidifier today but hasn’t really helped much.

I did the math for the tent comes out to 30sqft and when I do the math that I read to calculate I get 15 lol

thanks guys!

Here’s an update on her. Ppm’s are at 330 and Ph is at 5.8. She looks real good I think. Roots are starting to show at the bottom of the net pot . I have one 6in fan blowing on her and I leave the exhaust fan off for now to build up the humidity in the room because with it on it doesn’t get above 50%. Once she gets bigger I’ll turn on the fan. I have 2-3 ice cold bottles in the res to keep water temp down, and also wrapped the bucket in duct tape. I added more hydroton to the top to block any open areas I had.

I was wondering if the middle of the plant is doing ok. I feel it’s a little on the bright side of green than the rest of the plant. If any of you guys see anything that looks wrong I’d appreciate the info! 5F5AA23E-4B13-4A3B-8D51-078D130260CE.jpegFDA2141F-C5CA-46AC-B6A2-8C4FF60AC9BE.jpeg

Thanks everyone
