Nutrient Flush

Hey guys, I’m nearing the end of my vegetative state of my first hydro grow. Plants are doing wonderful this far. But i do have a question about the end of my flowering phase flush.
I’ve found a few different things with a quick google search, some do two weeks out, some do two days out. Some use nutrients and some don’t. Most forum posts are from 2018 and later. But I’m just looking for some guidance, that way if i need to buy something i can get it here with enough time during the holiday chaos.
Thanks in advance! A100FAD1-D0B5-4C7F-8C80-9D0F17BC5DAA.jpeg53B3297C-C916-4F63-A233-F809D03F2FB3.jpeg

He sees the future and predicts conflict in a battle of flush vs no flush.

I personally have never grown anything hydroponically. But flush is supposed to be applied when salts build up in the medium by using chemical fertilizers throughout the grow (I don't know about hydroponic because I thought you could just change the reservoir or something). For exemple if you select coco coir + perlite as medium and select Fox Farms trio as nutrients choice, then you would have to flush the medium periodically to avoid nutrient lockout caused by the salt build up, some people even flush when they switch from vegetative stage to flowering stage, the standard from what I've read is 2 weeks before harvest.

That is what I know about flushing. Not sure how that applies to a hydroponic grow, let's wait for the pros and see what they think.

1. You have at least 2 months to go so plenty of time for anything.
2. "Flush"? Google? Were any of the things you read posted by botanists? :bigjoint:

Yes, i understand what flushing is and why we do it. It’s not my first grow, just my first hydro grow.

1.You are correct, i do have plenty of time. I’m just trying to plan for the future. That way I’m not trying to do something last minute.
2.Most likely not. But, as stated above everything was conflicting. People were saying to put coffee grounds in the water and all kinds of different “natural” methods for light nutrients without the harshness of adding straight nutrients.

You do not need to buy anything. Just feed less and less during the final ripening. Plain or r/o Water last few days if you want.
This is what i found to make the most sense. But was afraid to do it without asking first. I don’t want to harm the plants by taking away nutrients too early, days away from cutting them. But i also would like to get the most flavor profile out of my plants for the end result.

Never overfeed, I would always have lush green leaves after 8 weeks of flower,You learn that hydro plants dont need much food to stay healthy.I often think some strains would grow just fine with tap water and a little calmag lol.

I agree. I’m on a very light feeding schedule of GH trio. I’m only giving them 2.5ml/gallon of each currently in veg.

Your plants look great‼ i tried cutting nitrogen 25% week 6, then 50% week 7-8. i think next time around im not going to cut nitrogen, im just going to feed them full strength up into its harvest time(700-900ppm) then flush them for 2-3 days and cut the lights out for 48 hours.

I dont care much for fall colors and Ambers. I want max yield and the highest potency.
