NVHAK49s Cabinet Garden!

So I finally put together a small cabinet to put in my closet for a personal stash. It's a plastic storage bin, 35"h x 26"w x 16"d and I painted the inside of it white. I put 4 Vero 29s V2 4000k "thanks jerry from kingbrite" on a 5.8"x 20" heat sink from heat sink usa. I put a 140mm cpu fan on the heatsink it stays cool to the touch, driven by HLG-120h-c700a, it's pulling 110w from the wall. I mounted two 140mm cpu fans on to the cabinet itself one on top for exhaust and one on the left bottom side for intake, I'll see how it goes first to see if I need to add a small fan inside to help keep temps down but we will see. I'm most likely going to put black duck tape on the outside of it to help with the light leak through the plastic.

Right now I have a Purple Widow from seed " right cup in the pictures I honestly can't remember when it sprouted I forgot to write it down, and I have a Nevilles Haze in the left cup, I'll be putting them in 1gallon smart pots tomorrow, they're both in a organic soil mix and will give them a tea feeding every other watering. And will flip to 12/12 in a few days or so and hope to add a few more strains once I can get some clones rooted. I'll be running my 16oz party cups in the cabinet too for the 7th 16oz party cup comp pretty stoked to use some good quality LEDs for it.

That turned out good - nice job! I used to have that same cabinet at my house back in NC, and I used it for a seedling/veg chamber with a high output fluorescent light shining through a cutout in the top of the cabinet. The LEDs should be plenty bright enough for plants, and I don't think you'll have any heat issues even if you just use the 1 fan pulling out of the top.
I was reading something in another thread about how it's easier to keep a grow space cool when there's plants in it since the water transpiring from the plants add a swamp cooler effect. I didn't think much about it until this week when the temps have been around 100 or above every day here. Today, the outside temps are around 106, and a thermometer in my garage reads 105, but three feet away in my cabinet with the doors mostly closed the thermometer reads 90. The transpiration effect from the plants is keeping the cabinet 15 degrees cooler than the ambient garage temps, even with the light on full power (135 watts). Pretty crazy. If I take the plants out the temp in the cabinet rises to the match the surrounding garage temp.
The moral of the story is to keep lots of plants growing in the cabinet to keep temps down lol.

Huh crazy I never thought of that but it does make sense in why it would make it cooler in the cabinet with plants in it. I have both fans going right now it's about 76 in there right now I might turn off the bottom fan and see how much of a difference it makes temps wise, I just put them in 1gallon smart pots I hope the purple widow perks up some, I have the driver turned down half way for vegging than I'll go full power once I flip to flower. Are your girls adjusting to th high temps well you think?

My plants are doing fine in the heat - I'd prefer to keep them cooler, but I don't think it has that much of an impact honestly. Plus, they really only get hot in the late afternoon, the cabinet stays in the 70s and low 80s in the morning. I could run the lights at night when it's cooler, but then I wouldn't get to spend much time staring at them and watching them grow lol. If you read the outdoor section there are guys in NorCal that grow in 112 temps (shade temps - in the sun it's even hotter), so my 90 degree cabinet temps don't bother me too much.

Oh nice I'm harvesting a lemon kush today hopefully it's some good stuff, I'll try it once it's dry than once I've cured some for 2 weeks or longer.
It's pretty decent smoke with some medical value also. I did a run of them a while back and will do again sometime. Hope you enjoy it:eyesmoke:

She's a pretty easy grow, can be leafy so make sure you give her low N during flower my first run of her she was super leafy but I wasn't liking canna coco mutes so It to gh trio much better results. I have a clone of her in a organic soil mix that 5 weeks into flower and she's starting to smell of citrus I never got that in the coco so I hope she smells like lemons and tastes like it too once she's done. My last one room about 11 weeks to finish. I'll post a pic of the organic one tomorrow.

Here's my weekly Friday update. My girls are looking very happy and healthy in there new pots and stretching some and probably will more since they're only a week into flower today I had to tie down the taller nevilles haze branch since she was getting a little tall, and will probably have to do it to the other branch too soon. The purple widow is staying short and bushy like she's suppose to being a indica dominate. Still have the cobs at 50% and will turn it up all the way by mid next week probably once they both start showing more flower growth. Hope everyone has a good weekend, smoke on!!:bigjoint:bongsmilie

Here's the day 14 of flower update nothing to exciting yet but they're loving the cobs and I'm lovin them too haha. There starts of bud sites on both the NH and the PW and they're both starting to smell good. The party cup girls are in there cups along side them too, so they'll be scaring the awesome light for the Veros.

The plants are looking good. Nice party cups too :bigjoint:. I'm going to have to back out of the cup comp unfortunately. I don't have anywhere in my cabinet for them since my plants have filled in the space. Plus I plan on doing a pollen chucking seed run next, and don't want the cups in the way. Next year I'll kick some cup butt...
