Ohio MMJ Sucks

So I've had my med card coming up on a year now in July. I will not be renewing my license this year. 250$ for another Dr followup plus another 50$ to renew the card is robbery. I have a medical condition that is degenerative and not going away ever, even with marijuana. The flower is extremely overpriced and sub par in my opinion, there are a few decent cultivators, but they sell out almost immediately due to the growing restrictions. I'm thankful for the progress, but it seems everything in Ohio always comes around to corporate greed. They can shove their $50+ for 2.83 grams up their ass.

Legalization is greed no matter where it occurs. Just a way to place more restrictions on us over a plant, where politicians gain politically (and financially), business people gain financially (while trying to save by cutting corners, using pesticides, and growing an inferior product), and we growers and users still suffer.

Yep, it usually works out that way. Ohio needs less restrictive legalization that permits some amount of home growing - that is the answer to our marijuana problems, with no fat-cats or governments taking a cut. There were at least a couple of groups hoping to get things on the ballot this fall but the pandemic has made that sort of thing even more difficult than usual, and I have no idea if anyone is going ahead with anything now. Ohio already sets a high bar for getting anything on statewide ballots because of the county-based signature requirements, and the AG is anti-legalization and will work hard to prevent certification of petitions. I think we'll get there eventually, and like a good Browns/Indians fan I have to say, "Maybe next year."

The Ohio medical marijuana program is a joke with no punchline, and has done little to convince even legit patients to go comply with its requirements - @FRICKITYFRICKTYFRESH is certainly not alone. I haven't bothered to get my card even though I qualify, mainly due to the prices but also the inconvenience, since there is no dispensary near my home or office. And I don't normally need to take my medicine with me when I leave home, so I'd derive no benefit from the card. Hell, like most people, I can get better, cheaper weed delivered to my living room (or the porch now, for no-contact delivery, LOL). At least we have a vibrant black market, and simple possession at home poses little risk to our freedom, but I we should be allowed to grow our own medicinal plants in peace.

I just got my card the other day, my doc told me it would be $100 for a renewal. I mainly got it so I can ride dirty, rarely go to a dispensary unless I find a new strain I would like to buy. It is shitty how Ohio does not allow growing cannabis. My wife works at a cancer center, and most patients who have their card can barely afford insurance, if they have any How can the low income, medical patients afford dispensary cannabis, let alone a zip off the streets. We need to catch up with Michigan.

true dat, i already had my card get me off the hook a few months ago with a park ranger. me and my dude were headed to our fishin spot and he had some dank ass gorilla glue homegrown and soon as we stepped out the truck, ranger pulled in. He was actually super cool. knew i was baked right off the rip and said we both reeked like pot. i told him i had my mmj card and he actually didnt wanna even look at it but changed his mind before he let us go. didnt even give my unlicensed dude any trouble. i honestly dont think they care anymore. i told the ranger, look around and what do you see? Fuckin beer cans and trash everywhere. I know many outdoorsman and fisherman that partake in burning down and we always leave our fishing spots cleaner than when we arrived.

Absolutely man, same here, i love to fish the lake, gotta keep it clean. Especially lake erie and that nasty green algae. Me n my bro caught a shit ton of crappie, blue gill and sun fish the other day. Enough for me n him to enjoy a nice lil fish fry.

Dude so get this, my wife is a social worker at the cancer center. She just randomly told me she helps pts get their med cards. I was like god damn woman gou finally tell me that and gou know how to get one?! Lol so she told me to go to this website.

I scheduled online for an evisit while at home. Said appointment be in a week, but if i call i can get in sooner. So i called the next day and scheduled me the same day for my card! 20 mins later after talking to the doc i was registered and got to print my card the same day! The doc told me in a year it would coat $100 to renew. But that probably can be different im sure from other doctors in different areas. I tell ya man, that online evisit is the way to go. Super stoked about it. Not sure how close you are to michigan but I noticed some dispensaries will run some bad ass deals for med card patients, they’ll send out emails. I was curious how it works when getting pulled over with a card. It had to feel pretty badass getting away with it legally lol

I just called the Dr that gave me my license again a few minutes ago. They once again confirmed. 199$ for the annual dr visit, plus 50$ to renew the card. Such fuckin bullshit.
