In two minds to start with one or two and try and make them as beastly as an auto can go with my setup .

But I'm wondering how many I can essentially grow in this space in 3 to 5 gal grow bags/ airpots ... Probably in coco coir.

Want to eventually try rdwc

Why not just grow photos and flower them when they're the size you want?
Your not wrong and at some point I will grow photos . Atm I want a quicker harvest 8-12 weeks photos as far as I can tell take about 4 months .
Plus I want to grow jack herer original auto I can get 3 seeds for £21 where 3 photos will cost £57

Need to try the tent out in my space and be as stealthy as possible aswell as not running high electric bill for prolonged periods .

Autos can yeild plenty so that's my reasoning

Definitely like the idea of photos though as you have much more controlsaying.that I can definitely get them cheaper . Need to work it all out .

Electric cost etc .

Myt grow a photo and run the light at 60% during veg

You'll likely use more electricity with autos as most people run them at least 18/6 all the way through. With photo's you switch to 12/12 for flower and won't run your lights as much.

Anyway, good luck with your grow.

If you plan on growing another cycle photos yields more if you compare germination rates with rooting clones. You'll never get the same potency, consistency and quality with Autos.

Running mono crop is pretty much impossible with Autos. IE you yield more per sq/feet with photos if you run a planned perpetual mono crop.

Don't grow your autos on full power. They get more light due to longer hours. Also on full power your likely to get little vertical growth, which you need for autos to yield decent.

I like photoperiod plants personally, but @Smokeytit90 here's a link to the best auto I've seen on here. 24/0 for light. Surprised me.

Would you suggest vegging at about 200/ 250 up to 300 watts. And after flowering stretch and preflower increase the wattage.

I'm interested in doing fim and lst either scrog or tie down

How many is partially the strains you grow. I just finished 10 autos just as a fun project.

With some strains you might pack 1 per sq ft but that imo is a tough to manage grow. 2 sq feet per plant and then a few "empty spots" for equipment and mobility.

For any easy grow I would want 4 plants to finish well in 3 or 5gal. I would start 6 and pick 4 of them after they have grown enough to see which are strong and well structured.

you can grow 4/5 autos in a 4x4, stagger them so you get a harvest a month and save yourself a lot of headache. grow in 3/5 gallon smart pots with coco, run canna a & b, cal mag and a bloom booster. simple, effective and you will get great results. easy as - basic and works

Why someone would suggest running "Calmag" with Canna Coco A + B is beyond me. Canna Coco base has more Calcium in solution than any sold "Calmag" product. I think Canna coir has 7% Ca, that's a whole lot.

Bloom booster doesn't work but a god myco product makes all the difference in coir.

That might still be too much. I kinda hate this question; how much wattage for X, cause there really isn't a guideline that you can follow other than your own plants and your environment.
Loads of people lightburn their first led crop. Problem is that with leds you need good control of your climate and warm temps. Cold and high intensity and you'll see sad plants.
So start very soft or with the light hanging high. Lower little by little until you see first signs of light stress and then pull back. If you stress them too much they won't recover, autos can't go on "pause" like photos. Don't worry of low wattage for slow growth, it's usually environment that's not ideal and in the end you'll find that time in flower when they like lots of light and you still get bulking.

One good thing if you can't keep temps in up easily try a horti heat mat under or around your pots.

On the how many: the longer the finishing time the bigger they tend to grow. 60 days, just pack them in. 90-100days, 4-6 my best guess.
