I know you can get big plants, huge root mass and big stretch in soil, I just think it takes an extra week or two to develop the root mass to support the big growth.

I will respectfully disagree on this one! But you have to be dialed in on a soil game to get fast results. And use beneficials at the right critical time. Easier said than done, also taking into considering transplant stress.
With a limited stress transplant, ( meaning zero root disturbance in or out, and perfect moisture conditions of soil prior to planting) I can have a 1 gallon ready for up potting in 2 weeks. With almost rootbound pots.

Also. Root structures are different in containers and water. So yes containers with soil may grow slower inch for inch, compared to water. But from the viewpoint of how fast can this plant be ready for healthy transplant into flowering container I’d say soil all

This current run here.
Veg time 20 days. And about 3 weeks cloning total process. Dialed in soil can be fast and explosive growth. With the yields equal or close to dialed in water grows.

Well they didnt die,Lol.
After reading all, The plant in question could also be root bound.It was transplant a month before flip,5g from 2g,I had top dressed at flip for first time with gaia 444.One other plant also got the topdress.It burned some leaves so I removed the 444.Thinking back I should have left it and used less.
Im now mixing the dry fertilizer with ewc and no burning.
So next run ill up pot to 7-10g a week or so before flip.Start topdressing in veg to keep the soil up.
Will see next run if these changes improve stretch and overall health.

444 and 284 50/50 ,all the way last topdres 30/70 if you love fade ...

First mix 1 cup 444 each 5 gallon

1/2cup each 3 week topdress
1/4each 444 snd 284

Bacteria eat nitrogen fast !

I'm sure you're doing pretty well Myke! But if it's your first time there might be a little room for improvement somewhere.
