less of those a'holes moving to colorado is fine by me.
Dallas, TX: right now: 28 F, low tonight: 20 F = disaster
Houston, TX: right now: 35 F, low tonight: 30 F = disaster

Denver, CO: right now: 26 F, low tonight: 16 F = kind of nice outside. We are doing fine.

IDK, man, but I think some people in TX might look at the situation in CO and decide to move there.

@farmingfisherman , I'm having difficulty being sympathetic to the people of TX right now. It's not right. But as they would say in TX, "you made your bed, now sleep in it." It's too late to address the systemic failures in TX that led to the problem. It's now up to ad hoc actions like that hero in Houston and while I applaud his effort, it's not enough. I'd do what I could to take care of mine. But it's not enough for the community. So, what are the leaders in that state doing right now? Are they mobilizing help or are they blaming the very people who elected them for being left out in the cold?

Yes looking at the temps it doesn't seem that bad specially if you have grown up with actual cold winters. I'm sure for the homeless people living there it is a serious situation. Guessing very few have the equipment for winter camping. Nothing worse than when cold sets in and you can't find a place to warm up. I applaud the man for doing what he did and hope others there follow his lead and help other folks out where they can..
Last thing, this is the United States, people are free to live wherever they choose. I love my country and try to do my part to make it a better place. We are a damaged country which needs to learn, respect and care for each other again..

I'd say that Texans need to start respecting others.

Texas government supported Trump's attempt to overthrow the US government. It was their government that decided to cut ties with the national grid. It was their government that decided to cut costs in winterizing their system. It is their government that is caught flat footed in this disaster. It is a large majority of people in Texas that supported the sacking of the Capitol Building and attempted murder of Trump's enemies.

Let Trump, with all his billions and his great business skills save them. If they suffer and die it's not due to anything I did. It was their own.

This might sound cold but my government was nearly destroyed by Texas's Messiah. And his wannabe replacement, Ted Cruz.

So, fuck em. Let them eat dirt. Let them come to terms with their stupidity because I don't think there is anything I can or even want to do until they want to change.

I just got back yesterday morning from a relay run to Newport, Iowa...now that was cold out there, it was -15 F in the morning and -25 F with the wind chill factor. Cold as a witch's tit.

Shit, here in Michigan 28 F and people still wear shorts lol

Oh man, I hate that socialism argument.
They don't even know what socialism is. Fact is, they love it and live it every single day.

The military they "love and respect"? Socialism.

The aid they get after a hurricane or tornado? Socialism.

The interstate highway system? Socialism.

The public school system they send their kids to every day and scream out loud to "open up now"? Socialism.

The Police? The Fire Department? The Coast Guard? All those guys and gals that save their ass? Socialism.

Medicare? Medicaid? Socialism.

Fact is, they absolutely love socialism when it is they who are receiving it. It's just that thought that anybody else can share in it that they can't stand because they're all self absorbed pricks.
