Not a single person who tells you to avoid platinum has ever had one much less grown with one. Platinum will grow some great plants, a p1200 yield will be on par with a 1000 watt hps without a doubt and I know this from experience. Now is there better options for the money? Yes, if you have the time to diy a light, if not the timber is a viable option as wellThank you so much! One more question; Would you also recommend to avoid the Nova/Supernovas N300S/NS300? I own 3 of them.
And the P12? $1300 for 700 watts of cheap monos? Never recommend that to anybody.

I agree a lot of people hate on them hard and always will no matter what...
I replaced my 1000w with 2 P450s and so far I've been noting but happy with the results.
There are better lights out there sure....
But just because something better exists doesn't mean they are "garbage"... they do great work and grow awesome plants.
Haters need to stop whining and go use their better lights... get over it and themselves.

As for their consumer service...
I've never contacted them... but they did contact me on here and were very nice.
They gave me 15% coupon codes, their direct contact info and reassured me if ANYTHING goes wrong with my lights they will ship another to me immediately.
Over all they have great lights, consumer service, and warranty.
I'm more than willing to pay a little extra for that...
I guess a little more money for a light just breaks some people and makes them whine on forums.

I stand up for them because they make a good product and I've had noting but good experiences with them and their panels.
And how do you explain how my two P450s have so far blown away a 1k HPS/MH setup that pulled a pound a plant? And in 5 years the amount of HPS/MH bulbs I'd have to buy alone would cost over $500.
I have results to back what I say and actually own their product...Do you?

1300$?....Whoever you're getting them from is ripping you off, I can get them much cheaper from amazon. A 600w for about 300$.

So, the problem is that every single LED light and company seems to have many good reports and many bad reports, not just Advanced Platinum, and this is making selecting any LED light difficult. I am close to just going with tried and true compact flourescants.....at least no one can argue about their output. Actually, Im sure you still could.
I can get Advanced Plat P600 for 356$. Based on the reviews I've seen here, I am going to try to find a brand that everyone can agree AT LEAST holds itself to the standards that us growers require they have. Thank all of you so much, I appreciate all of the information! I don't judge the light based on who their name sounds like or how they advertise, I only care about if the light is of at least average quality in terms of durability, I do not take into account if they are "ripping off" the name of another well established company, that's advertising/capitalism at it's best. I only care about the final product's quality and craftmanship. Again, thank you all so much!

Wow these are not nearly that expensive on Amazon, but regardless of price, I am interested in quality over quantity. But I am not rich either. So, I'm not sure what options I have in terms of a good, average life spanned LED that will pay for itself in power usage and help my yields increase and improve in quality and quantity.

Noooooooo. This company says it's American so it's only a matter of time for a class action false advertisement suit happens.
That's only 188 watts of ~20% efficient leds. That's worse than most any leds.
Anyway platinum is using epileds which are the worst leds there are. Their efficiency is shit and longevity is too. They're good Christmas lights that's about it. Only the stupid stand behind this company. They rip off fools.
If you want multi color then California light works has the solar system 550 that uses osram leds which they tell you because osram is not shit so they don't hide it like platinum. The ss550 can be bought for about $550 if you search around and is 400 actual watts of high quality long lasting leds. I average about 1 LB per SS550.
HOWEVER cobs are king.
So in your price range look at timber grow lights Citizen options

Three plants around 1 pound each... with 2 255w pannels...
3 pounds = 48oz... 48oz = 1360g. And that's almost 2 1/2 grams per watt smart guy.
They have been much better than the 1k hps they replaced... at half the power consumption and heat output

With these you can "build" a passively cooled, super efficient fixture for much less than a dollar a watt. Actually if anyone has a Platinum probably the best thing they could do with them is upgrade them with cxm22s.
LED tech cost has improved greatly recently. Upfront cost vs HPS is shrinking all the time. In a year or two it wont make sense for a start up to go with HPS.

Yes I got mixed up, I meant to put 300w. But there are higher ones like the p600 far cheaper than in your previous post. And I'm simply saying the advertised wattage, not the actual/true wattage....my apologies for misinforming anyone, it was not my intention.
