Possible to Clone a Poppy Plant?

In order to send more energy to the top of the plant and create more genetic copies of this plant, I was wondering if it's possible to clone the lower nodes of this poppy plant in the same way that you would clone a cannabis plant? Put the cuttings in rock wool cubes and then into my garden bed outdoors? This is the plant that I'm wondering about: image.jpg

Thanks

yes, you should be able to clone a poppy plant. i'm not sure what kind of poppy plant that is, most of them i've seen have leaves that grow right out of the main stem, not on little stalks, and have quite a lot of white hairs along the veins on the backs of the leaves, and even on the stalk that holds the flower head

i'd try the traditional method with cuttings, and if that doesn't work, i'd try air cloning a branch

easy peasy, all varieties of poppies clone the same way. most trees, bushes, grasses, berries, weeds etc too.

you need a branch or shoot with a growing tip on it. i like larger cuts, 4 or 5 inches, but thats for cannabis, not sure about a flower.
if you use soil, you just stick it in and leave it alone, keep the soil just damp, set it out at the edge of your lights, and wait. rockwool is about the same, if it comes with a premade hole, make sure you tear off a little chunk of rockwool to stick in there to completely fill the hole, don't let your clone flop around in a too big hole, makes them dry out, and never root, same with rapidrooters

Going to place a cutting of a great indoor growing and blooming peonie type poppy. Went to senescence and had one last bolt. Soaking now and going to soak in technafloras rooting gel soon.
Ps somniferum species do not like being grown in same environment as cannabis indoors(my 2nd season experience).
Wish me luck.

If you wait untill the plant bolts, you will never root it in time

Once they bolt, you can not gain controll by adjusting the light hours
Have you cloned a somniferum? I've never had success. Possibly a tissue culture may work? I've never tried tissue culture..
