Psilocybe Cubensis Golden Teacher grow

you can get around 6 or 7 if your lucky.

2-3 flushes from cakes/casings, 4 flushes is about the best anyone gets...

bulk substrates can live a long time as long as they are kept clean, like months, but they'll only grow a couple mushrooms at a time.

my friend gets around 6 most the time. but he doesnt grow on cakes or substrates he grows in layers of what actually grows the mushrooms i forget what its called.

Hmmm guess I forgot to add the pics of the new chamber last night and the cake after it's first flush/dunk... sorry.

Here it is, though.
The cake started to turn blue so I was almost sure it was contaminated, but then I did a little research and it turns out cakes tend to blue after the flush anyways, when the cake stops producing its first batch of shrooms.

Hopefully within a little while I'll see a second flush... Any idea how long it should take until I see the next shrooms pop up? (there are two, what seem to be aborts on the cake. They just started growing and stopped at that size... son't confuse them wih pins)

Well they seem to be drying fairly well.
Right now they're at just under 50% mass, close to 30g, so they've still got a bit to go. I find though the closer they get to completely dried up, the quicker they dry, meaning they dry more rapidly towards the end... not sure if it'd just my perception of it though.
They also smell oddly enough if I had to describe it, like my dogs ass? lol...
Anyways, hope to have some more pinners soon.

Any idea how long after dunking it takes for more pins to rise and shrooms to grow?

Yooo so I ate them last night with some friends, great first trip I'd say.
I definitely good tripped, the only thing that I don't like about it is that I don't remember the trip well enough, I feel like I should have been writing down what was happening lol.
Anyways, I sat alone for the entire trip, while my friends went out. I decided to stay alone because as soon as they left the room, I realized how personal of an experience a shroom trip can be.
I was discovering myself and also one thing I remember is that the human anatomy seemed really incredible to me at the time.
We had some weird experiences experiences but it was good that we were all tripping on the same level.
I hope my cake produces more shrooms, I don't see any yet... any idea how long it takes after the dunk?

i remember my first trip, it was beautiful, i was surrounded by nature and loving it...

it'll take 3-5 day after dunking to get knots/pins... could take a week...

So you have your one cake which you are getting a second flush from...do you have any more cakes going or are you planning on preparing some more jars?

I actually decided to turn the cake into a casing this flush around, hopefully it doesn't fuck it up, I'm just hoping for a bigger yeild than the previous one, so yesterday I broke up the cake, laid it on a layer of damp vermiculite and covered it with slightly wet vermiculite. I basically followed casing instructions... Hopefully within a few days I'll start to see the mycelium poking through...
I'm also waiting for my spores to come in the mail; should be any day now hopefully. Once they do, I'm going over to my buddy's house to sterilize and innoculate the jars (there's 8 of them, 2 for each strain, 4 for each fruiting chamber... I have 2 fruiting chambers)...
I'll keep those grows updated in new threads as this one's called Golden Teacher grow, which wouldn't be relevant anymore since it's different strains... hehe...

cool alright. Thanks for checking into my grow. I think I've decided that I'm going to be starting over. Everything is taking forever and the slower it goes the more contaims take over.

Did you have any luck with ralphstersspores.com? I read earlier that you ordered from them. I got my Cambodians from spores101.com but I wanna try a new place just to see maybe it had something to do with the spores.

I would put my grow on the line that it's not a problem with the spores. Spores101 is one of the largest most reliable sporebanks on the net...

And no, I haven't received the spores in the mail yet from Ralphsters, hopefully soon lol...

yeah, after checking a few different websites out I don't really feel comfortable buying from other vendors. They came through in my last order so why not try it again.

I'm going to get some golden teachers myself this time. See if I can duplicate your results

Haha sweet, GT are really easy to grow. I heard B+ is an easy grow as well... I'll let you know which strains I ordered when they come in the mail; I actually totally forget which ones they were lol...

When you order your spores how long does it usually take to get?I ordered some B+ from hawks eye on Monday.

I suppose it usually takes about 1-2 weeks...
