Purple Stems On The Leaves

Week4@inCharge

I growing Zowahh strain, started under LED'S (full spectrum, for veg and flower) cos it has more blue light than ordinary hps. After a week I separated plants, half of them in the tent under HPS another half stayed under LED'S. I've noticed that stems turned purple in the beginning. Under HPS plant colour back to normal green with minor purple colour. Under LED'S turned even more purple....So what does the LED'S actually do to the plant? I keep 24/28c° RH 60/70 PH 6.0 I thought lights to intense so turned down to the minimum but after few days no difference...Zowahh its a purple strain,I thought that's genetics plying role, but now I see the difference....
I've read it somewhere that LEDs are not as full spectrum as they say they are.

The hps is likely putting out less UV spectrum than the LED’s -
The purple is just the plant reacting to the UV- like a sun tan does on your skin.
I have had good results with plants that had some purple in their stems and I supplement my LEDs with a few 4’ UV lights
Keep every plant happy and enjoy your results

I've had same issue with my last crop it was Amnesia....under LED'S stems turned purple, under HPS no issues...better results were with hps....
Thanks for responding

Did you notice any difference in the final product which would steer you one way or the other? My good results can likely be better.
I am a believer that anything has room for improvement and getting a good bud is subjective unless you’re comparing side by side.

Amnesia final product looked better from under hps....under LED'S pistils started to turne orange in week 4 and harvested in the week 7 and half. Incredible results under LED'S I had when I was growing gorilla zkittlez

As long as you have healthy roots, leaves + buds -> don't worry!
LEDs bring out a wide variety of pigmentations in plants.
Some turn totally blue, pink, violet, or even black whilst being absolutely healthy.

Look at these for example:

I regularly find myself smoking bud, then thinking to myself:

Those plants that show colors are really no good!
Had I only used something that had less light and more heat, boy that would be GREAT

That is the only downside to running leds.
I am always stuck doing a balancing act between humidity and temp which keeps me in the lower end of the ideal temps during veg.
During flower im farther away from the ideal temps due to keeping humidity even lower.

My room temperature is around 21°C / 70°F
Depending on how hard I push my lights I'm inbetween 24°C / 74F° and 29°C / 84°F
I don't see why there would be an issue with too cool temps. At ''night'' I never go below 19°C / 66°F.
I did really pay attention when I installed my ventilation system and found optimal spots for the intake etc, so it's pretty based and I can deal with fluctuation quickly.

Purpling is due to anthocyanin accumulating in the plant and its production is inhibited by higher temps. Try raising temps without raising lightlevels.

Here's a Banana Kush that had a rough start. Purple the whole time. The soil was probably still cold from being frozen solid a week before I brought it into the grow room. Did the cold soil cause the stunting? Most likely. Did it make the plant turn purple? I don't know. The other two Bananas are bigger and they do show some purple but not the whole plant. Looks fine but it's only day 54 on an auto. I cant belive this plant needs another 30 days. What do you think? All white and some clear trichomes, no amber at all.GOPR0281.JPG

Can't really make a case here, if u used the same soil for all the plants in my opinion that wouldn't make alot of sense.
Question still remains...
