Ready or not? Wedding cake at 50 days

This plant has developed and declined much faster than my other wedding cake next to it. (The other one is very healthy, green, and still has 95% white pistils).

I believe this plant's rapid decline can be attributed to: having a smaller pot + different type of super soil + mostly, a serious infestation of fungus gnats larvae.

Almost ALL the fan leaves have yellowed/dried/fallen off. As a newb, I am not sure if the trichomes are really clear or milky (see photos?).

I suppose, waiting another 10 days until around the 60 day mark cannot hurt?
Although, I am stunned at how this plant has declined so fast! What should I do in this situation, harvest or wait?
What is going on with this sickly plant that has declined so fast?

All this being said, the buds do seem real sticky, aromatic and nice.

Okay thank you for the confidence boost @Southernontariogrower

Does my hypothesis make sense, as to why her sister is getting fatter and fatter and only has 5% of pistils changed color? Or how can we explain that they have developed at such different speeds? I was not aware that the speed of bud maturation can vary greatly among different phenos, I assumed it is due to some stress.

if you want to keep fungus gnats at bay, diamataceous earth will kill them and has silica for girls, then topdress 2 inches of sand or I use hydacorn. They will all die.

Yes I've got the infestation under control with diamataceous earth and hydtrothon. Sticky traps, cinnamon, vinegar trap. More dry-downs etc.

So I think thats okay. But I was also more wondering if such stress can cause a rapid maturation? Esp combined with a smaller pot size as compared to her sister?

I don't understand. Wedding Cake is a clone only strain, how can you have pheno variations? Wedding Cake isn't ready before 9-weeks of 12/12. Closer to 10 weeks is better.

Gotcha. The must be S1 knockoffs of the original clone. That kind of thing always makes for confusion when they do that with clone only strains. I have the original clone, and it's never done before 9. I even use far red end of day treatment which speeds up flowering up a bit.

Either way the plant isn't done yet. Try to ride it out a bit longer. Also try to figure out what you did to it for it to go downhill so quick, so you don't let it happen again.

Okay cheers. I'm pretty sure its the smaller pot and over water causing fungus gnats with a bit slow reaction to get them under control.

Good point @joe9000 im keeping a close eye. So far its just the fan leaves drying out and falling off. I guess if the bud itself starts to look dried out or any type of mold, I should cut her down right away.

Ladies and gents, I gave her the axe.

The yellowing leaves were getting more towards the bud area, even onto the trim area.

I looked on the 60x loop and was able to find some amber trichome heads, thus decided to harvest.

After only 7 weeks flowering. She definitely matured waaay faster than expected.

Even faster than the plant right next to her (in a larger pot of different super soil mix -- that ended up with bigger buds).

I inspected this harvested plant's soil and it seemed very unhealthy! like a mush with insufficient aeration (material like perlite etc).

If I ever use that soil again, I would certainty amend it, use a bigger pot/more medium, and be very careful to avoid over-watering in flower.

In the end however, this lady did fully mature with decent size beautiful Wedding Cake buds! I would guess the dry weight may come out to around 90 grams?

I've learned a lot, this was the first plant harvest in my new flower chamber.

Good news as well, is: her sisters are coming along real nice and much slower+fatter as well.

Upon closer inspection, it seems the mushy part of the soil was at the top where I had topfed worm castings and other such, without any aeration material mixed in. The fungus gnats thrived in that area for a couple weeks before I got it under control.

Meanwhile, my floor is slightly sloped to send water in the drain but the pots were also sloped which I now know was a problem! I should have put a stone under the pot to keep it level and avoid water always going to one section.

You're not done but running out of leaves and from my experience u start increasing risk of bud rot. I'd chop and try doing better on the next one. Good job though for first run. U got smoke!
