Ok in a few weeks here im going to rebuild my entire RDWC system and i have NO CLUE what size pump to use for the waterfalls. Below is the details of the system,

28 totes 7g each
30g epicenter
2.5 inch return lines
1.5 inch feed lines for waterfalls reduced to 1 inch falls inside the buckets
No air pumps, no stones just falls.

So total of 150-170 gallones of system water to move and pump, what do y'all recc on size for the pump to cycle the waterfall water??

Ty in advance

is this gonna be 28 of the same strain?

i'd think about making 4 zones of 7 totes per pump instead of all 1 loop with 1 pump. pumps will fail. at the worst possible time usually

Never thought of that and i garuntee you with my luck it will happen to me lol, ill have 2 pumps extra on site for that.

Now that i think about it im going to do 2 14 pot sites instwad of 1 28. Same strains in each for sure 1 in 14 and another in the other 14 pot unit

how are you planning on doing the waterfall? one thing i did which i can only imagined helped increase DO was to use a pvc cap and drill a bunch of 1/8 holes in it. (think of the sprayer on a kitchen sink)

I’m actually going to cut my current spray bars off and cap the single 3/4 inch just like you said. Not this run, next one. I’m after deeper.... penetration... haha, but really, I would like the water jet to get 3/4s the way down. It might be 1/3 to half now. Not that’s it’s a issue now but, I don’t know.. have to change something.

I was going to split it inside the buckets with a Tee and run a 45 downward eachway

A lot of water with no chiller. How would you cool the water for two setups.. There are some ways around no chiller.. what do you plan on using?
