We've been having a few minor load issues with the RIU server, so we're tweaking things to make the site stabler and faster. It's early days, but things are looking good so far. In the meantime, we'll try and get a notice up when planned upgrades are going on, and keep any unplanned ones down to a minimum (we don't like them either!!). Things might get a little bumpier over the next few days, though we hope not.
For any of you guys with a technical bent, we're moving some of the tables over from MyISAM to InnoDB, to better deal with row-level locks on the post table, which has just tipped passed the one-million figure; rebuilding indexes isn't what you might call rapid, but only has to be done when switching table type.
