Recommend a good side light....

...Here's the deal...Week three of flower...3 gallon soil...2 X 2.5 Gorilla tent...Nextlight Mini....One 70/30 Sativa dominates hybrid (Mother Tongue) that has filled the entire tent by itself. I have defoliated quite a bit to let some light get through...but not much penetration below the canopy and I would like to try and solve the problem of "larf" by adding 2 or 3 panels for side lighting. Yes, I have scrogged in the past...but I'm trying some watering techniques where I need to take the plant in and out of the tent to water it. Maybe three separate 50 watt panels that can hang on-end to blast that under carriage...?

I was also considering maybe trying some fluorescent lights for side lighting and getting a couple of those blue UV tubes.

Ideas?

If that worked. They would have included it with the tent kits.

If light manufacturers can sell you a light. They'll do it.

No.

I do this for 5 months out the year. I pull enough weight to last 12 months for two people. I refuse to read about side lights....again. It's been years but I remember this episode. Not interested at all.

No because price point goes up thats why they dont do it.

I run photography bars in veg going up the side; only 140 watts in blue spectrum. I think if you consider spectrum a neat side lighting setup can be viscous. You just need to consider everything. For every piece, a reason -

Consider UV-B supplement on a timer. Everyone says UV this and UV that but really it is UV-B they should focus.

And is it truly worth it? Do you see a noticable increasing ammount in trichome production on the buds?

I have never been fond of the reptile lights. My fixture dips into the UV spectrum so I do not suppliment it. I think supplimenting it in hourly spurts on and off through the flower cycle would be wonderful. It is a setup I have in mind to replicate high mountain areas with intermittent cloudbreaks

All depends on the spectrum. UVA I am running goes 12/12. UVB is much more harmful, especially the lowest 20 point of it. That has to be done in small bursts so you don't damage the plant cells.

I like 5500 k photography cfls or 6400k phillips both seem to produce great lower nugs and trich production on the lowere 12”

After looking I would get something like that and ignore the reptile portion of it. Possible have one on each adjacent corner of the tent with a very small fan below it running air toward the top of the tent. On a timer is important so you can burst the light on and off through the 12 hours. Mine is a well balanced spectrum so I am able to run it all day long -

side lightning does of course work, everyone have to decide for him/her if it fits for his/her growstyle but of course it is a way to get PPF in to places where no PPF had gone before.

Well, I don't know so that's why I am asking. But I do know that many people have had success with vertical growing and I was thinking that one could achieve a similar effect by placing the lights at a different angle rather than the plant(s).
