Redneck Weddings.

I do some videography on the side hustle. Ive had a commercial drone pilots license since 2015. I just finished up a project today of a redneck wedding. First time I've ever seen a "foot washing"... but hey.. whatever. I've shot this venue before about 3 years ago, and I know this countryside like the back of my hand, but I had to look it up again.. very remote. It's like .. "drive 22 miles East till you don't see anything"...Most of them had teeth. Edited in Final Cut Pro X. 3 cameras. I joke about some of these guys.. but look at the dude in the front row right... that dude has been on a farm his whole life. They know nothing but hard work. He'd prob wrap you up like pretzel in about 2 seconds. Most all of these men are hardened in one way or another.. I wouldn't fuck with any of them.

I judge redneck weddings in 3 categories. Fight quality, amount of alcohol consumed, number of police interactions :bigjoint:
Re-read my edited post..... and, there aint no police this far out. No rules. I'd be willing to bet that some of these guys have a "hole" on thier land.... and you gotta remember that some of these guys have square miles of land.

That's what my buddy Dean does now that he's retired from being a tank commander. He's out in West Texas making crazy money, living like an outlaw. Those guys are tough beyond words.
Yessir!... Tougher than armadillo meat. Always grease under thier fingernails, hands like bricks, and don't take no bullshit. They work hard enough. More than most. I wouldn't make it a day on that rig.

They party hard too from what he says. It sounds a bit like the wild frontier out there. Hard work and hard play. The money is pretty impressive but a lot of guys don't last. Even in my younger years I don't think that would have been my cup of tea but who knows, my nick name since my teens has been bone crusher jr because of my and my Dad's size so I'd have probably fit in okay.

I had mentioned in another thread that we lived in the Middle East when I was in Private School. Dad was the Gulf Supervisor. He partied with some people on shore the night before. He said one dude was so fucking drunk at 3am, he didn't know if he was gonna make the flight out to the offshore rig a few hours later. He got on the chopper, and behold....the pilot was that drunk guy. They stayed on the rig for about 2 hours, picking up crew to come back onshore. The chopper spun up (with this guy prob still half drunk) and he said "we're heavy".. this chopper was being all it could be, and crept alot the deck (my dad was shitting his pants).. Pilot says "If we can get off the edge, I can get some air under these blades"... they dropped like a rock until they nearly hit the Ocean before getting flight..... Life of an oilfield worker.

In the late 70s one of my cousins took a job over in Saudi Arabia working for one of the oil companies on their compounds delivering the mail. He only had to work 4 hours a day 5 days a week and made 75k a year back then tax free. The big draw back was no booze or women were allowed due to shari'a law. That's why they had to pay so much. Nobody wanted to be out in the damn desert with no beer or women. He saved his cash and bought Persian rugs for cheap to resell over here and made a killing. They got busted making beer when some bottles popped from over fermentation while they were out camping in the desert and security came to check out noises from the apt. Crazy times like you said back then too.
