Anyone ever deny an appraiser entry to a garage or basement due to an indoor grow? Wondering if it's gonna be possible to refi while rates are low with having a full basement and garage build out underway lol

16x lights in the garage and 16 in the basement with 2 100a sub panels in each and I built temp insulated plywood walls and wired.it all up myself as well as plumbing and dosatrons. Def do t want them looking at it and I doubt I could get pics that dont show it's an obvious purpose built grow room.

I did on my house, few rooms, I went in and took pics for him
He was fine with it
I dont think I could get any pics not showing its a grow op.

I shut my grow room down for the appraisers visit. Rented a U-haul truck and filled it with plants and parked it across the street. They would likely give you a lower appraisal value.
If I had a tent or something ya that would be possible.

Say you’re concerned about COVID and ask if they can do a street appraisal. They had no problem doing that for me. Just needed to ask.

I just got a re-fi last week (2.75% 30 year) and they waived the appraisal completely.. i was borrowing well under the value of the house though, might be worth asking your mortgage guy..

I didn't want anyone in my house cause of my grow also..

Hmm I'm in Canada and up here rarely do banks actually send someone inside to do a full evaluation especially on a refinance. Most often its a drive by appraisal to see if you've put any additions on the house or if its falling apart.
