Synchronicity

I have had foliar feeding winged aphids get into my house from outside in the late summer and fall. They tend to reproduce with females giving birth to live offspring without the need to mate (parthenogenisis) all season until the temps start to fall and daylength shortens in the late season.

Then a generation of winged males and females is produced and they get up in the air and move great distances. they then mate and eggs are laid for overwintering to then emerge in the spring..........

But my main issues have occurred from bringing in the winged forms from outside in the fall. They can be a real pain but I dont know those root feeders yet (thankyou)- they get parasites but Ive never seen the little wasps have that much effect...........

These are Rice Root Aphids btw. They only go for certain host plants so I think my houseplants are not an issue. They will get the OG Biowar compost tea treatments though.

Although I have seen a couple crawlers and a flyer or two, my moms are in perfect health so I grabbed cuttings last night, dunked in Tweetmint and once they begin to root I am going to start inoculating with Cap’s beneficials. Old mothers were tossed and the space was sanitized. Basement/tents/tools have been cleaned and steam cleaner.

I’ll update this thread as I work through this.
