Hi all
Just wanted to run something by the group here as well as to establish a time line for this idea.
My Brother and Myself have been tossing around an idea about building clear plastic rooms 10'x10' by 9' high for use in commercial buildings.
We are becoming aware of the fact regardless how you feel about the latest covid 19 stuff... that if the restaurant industry as well as bars and the like are certainly looking like they will be the last ones to re-open in any kinda of pre covid atmosphere.....
These internal building separations will come in a variety of formats depending on their end use... but a basic model would be approx. 10' x10' by 9'0" high since most commercial ceilings are 10'0" +- and they would have hook ups on the top for 8" flexible duct work for in coming and out going air, and a holder for a hepa filter or N95 compliant filter on the in coming air. They would be available in ambient fresh air ducts at the floor bringing in outside air and can be hooked up to the buildings existing air draw structure in one direction to create a positive draw of fresh air.
They would also have a door access for the server to enter and exit. plus the usual holder for hand sanitizer and the like built in.
There would be enough room for a 4'x4' or 5' by 5' table and 4 chairs wit enough room to move around the very outside for serving.
There would be units for 6 people and units for 4 or less.
Of course my mind instantly ,also went to cannabis (go figure) but I could see how these rooms could also level the playing field between cannabis and alcohol in the bar room situation.
it should really be possible for bar patrons to be able to sample a menu of cannabis product, while having their night out at an establishment.
Since these clear plastic rooms, are already set up for it with the filters etc for the pandemic recovery... it should be possible for you to belly up to the bar and buy a couple of pre-rolled or a gram or 2 of strain x and you and your buddies grab 1 of the 6 units available at the end of the bar ....which is sanitized and ready for the next joint smoking customer.
(that's right customer) Its high time that cannabis went main stream enough ....to be able to be sold everywhere alcohol is basically sold for on site use..
The fact that the rooms are clear and easy to see thru and the circulation is good enough so it does not become a complete hot boxing event...lol
but they would make it hard to do anything else illegal due to the high visibility of the box itself.
What do you guys think about this type of set up....
for me personally I think.... mom and pop restaurants are gonna be the ones that this covid virus takes the biggest chunk out of.
followed by anything else that is considered service industry and has wait staff or servers....
it will be surprising to see them survive with out changes like the clear plastic box.... which is just to put peoples minds at ease and to allow safe continuation of a lot of businesses.
