Honey Brook, I remember hearing about that!! I grew up during that time in Delaware county close to chester county. Possible I know you or ran into you. Crazy, I remember my friend Doug(Bear), used to be part of a few guys growing this in that area. And also a guy named Dave, I wont do last names, but if you know them, you don't need.
I remember getting a 10 gram top that was amazing! Doug told me they would harvest some that were two feet when wet. I am hoping for that lingering flavor, that used to get you in trouble if you breathed on the wrong person!
Funny, didn't know it was an afghani? Thanks for sharing your information.
Gives me even more hope.
Yes. Your friend Doug might have known Chris and Chuck. Both kicked it with skunk. I had a really great seed from the 88 crop produce a monster bush out in West Bradford horse country. Was amazing results. The og had a parcel of land he used out on the Lancaster boarder in HB. Lots of horse and prickers to hide and seek. That was the source for a large part of the tristate. I would bet it's seed's helped spread to many parts on the east coast. Because when you sampled it, nothing else even came close. The color, looks(almost fluffy big), skunk smell, plateleaf, crystal coating was indica dominant Afghan compared to the Mexican and Jamaican most common in the Delaware valley. Funny my buddy ordered nl5 X haze from The seed bank in 1988 and they were out but they sent what they called Durban Poison instead. It had a Lancaster PA postmark. Hahaha. He grew It and it turned out exactly like the skunk we already had been getting. Go figure.
Lastly Dave and Chris were very good friends. I'll never forget taking Sam from que corner in downing town out to smoke some and he was blown away by the quality. He was an old head and he had immediate respect for the quality.

Yes.
I had a feeling you would have knowledge of Doug.
He was one of the first guys to have " Kind Bud"!
There was such great genetics back then!!!
Probability some of that Kind Bud was some kind of skunk hybrid.
Thanks for the memories bro!
I can still smell that skunk on the inside pocket of my leather jacket like it was yesterday!!

20190526_060930.jpg 20190526_065542.jpg Allrighty then!
First I want to thank God for being blessed enough to have this harvest!!
Its been over a year and a half since I have had any clean personal grown meds.
That is a long time!!
Now I had to cut things earlier than I would want to. But a few problems with a new room that wasn't fully figured out, and some issues with lacking some nutrients in my soil mix. Led to an early cut about 2 weeks early. So not going to get a great yield, but should have some decent quality.
So my next update will be the smoke report.
Mahalo to all that are interested in this hunt.
This is 62 days.20190526_061401.jpg 20190526_061533.jpg 20190526_061823.jpg

And a little pineapple express and another called orange tree.
Much like the orange tree! If you like Tangie, this has a better flavor and more potent.

The Orange tree and pineapple express are the first two pics it seems.

Ok. It's time to sample these and see if they are roadkill or not!?!
I will report back in a few hours!!20190602_194437.jpg

1st sample.
Wow!! Very strong!! Skunky aftertaste!
Goes to eyes and chest(heart)!
Then straight to the brain! And happy!
This is one at bottom.

Sample #2
One at the top.
This one in strong! Close to pure indica.
Acrid skunky smell and taste.
This is like the full indica side of the roadkill, in my opinion as I far.
Couchlock, heavy high! Eyes open wide, but can't move.
Clear amber resin on this one.

Sample #3
Strong skunk flavor and after flavor!!!!!
Heavy lung expanding smoke!
I will have to roll a joint of this one to see about that flavor is like the original.
Heavy couchlock at first, then a big shit eating grin!
Some serious power in this one! Completely forgot about the other two samples.
I am f'd up!!!
Full body and mind. Great energy!! Like so happy you dont know what to do!
Just keep getting higher. No paranoia, but not due to lack of strength!
Flavor has stayed in the back of my throat for an hour! Cotton mouth hard!
Very long lasting peak high!!
This one is pretty much as close to what i remember as I have come across!!

So early impressions.....
1st one was more sativa, somewhere around 60-65% indica.
2nd one was mostly indica, around 90-100% indica.
3rd one is about 80% indica!

All were good, and will be kept.
The 3rd one is the one!!
The others are like components of the 3rd one.
Like the indica pheno, seems to be the indica part of the 3rd pheno. And the sativa leaner, seems to be the sativa side of the 3rd pheno.
If that makes any sense!?!

First hit I took, then waited a half hour, took second hit, waited half hour.
Then took third hit and and still going off this one!!

So I am very happy with this variety from Riot Seeds!!
Mahalo Matt!!

Much mahalo to all involved.
Now I am super happy that these genetics are the real ones,
Finally a company that at least you will get some nasty roadkill skunk in a pack!
Did I get the original 100% super legendary RKS, honestly no.
What I got is about 90% or more of that legendary RKS!!
The original pack that I lost had two others that seemed like they would have been even closer to the 100% Original!

I woke up this morning with a little weed hangover!!
I love this stuff! But just like the real one, you come down after a long high and want some food and sleep

Also a better run might get me even closer'
But damn this one pheno is so strong it just cut through the hangover, and straight to soaring happy brainwarping goodness!!

I can only sit here and wonder about those other ones that I had...…
But I am soooo high, I don't really care that much!!

Isn't skunk supposed to be more on the sativa side? I've not heard much about indica leaning skunk, skunk crosses sure but not skunk itself. Maybe it's just a afghani heavy cross of skunk genetics?

All the skunk I've grown in the past has been sativa in the high department, but I've only ran skunk #1 from dutch passion back in 2002.

Cheers man and glad it turned out nice!

Yes, that was my original thought as well!
But I now think that was wrong.
And probably why its been so hard to find!
They have listed skunk#1 as ; Columbian gold, Acapulco Gold, Thai and Afghani.
Creating the illusion that it is 75% sativa.
But my thinking has now changed on that!
I think the Afghani was the keeper mom, and sativa"s were added to it, then backcrossed to the mom!
Keeping it heavy on the Afghani side!
Sort of like the reverse of Haze!

Because if there is one thing I can tell you, this is the real Roadkill skunk! The only reason I said it wasn't 100% is because its an s1 and not the clone.
So the one I have is only slightly diluted from the original in taste. And I mean slightly!!
The effects are pure Roadkill all the way!!!

And it trips me out that the effects are so soaring, happy and heavy from the indica side.
But that old school Afghani mom must have been the originator!?
Possibly even the same one used in Northern Lights, with just different papa's.?

But those are just my thoughts....

I've been doing some homework. Rks and skunk in general came from Afghani seed stock. There's way too many clues leading to Afghani, too many first hand accounts too. Skunk being in sativa dom, those plants must have come from hybrids. For a while people were crossing skunk to different things just to tame the smell and not get locked up, lol.

From the direct seeds of skunk bud grown in the 80's, my plant was a 4-5 foot bush 8 ft wide skunk. Next to the bag seed Mexican 12 footers, there was no question it was indica dominant and not that sweet skunk imposter. Probably the first indica bud appearence everyone remembered n the east coast because it kicked your ass, was beautiful, and smelled up your pocket anytime you had it. Unforgettable. That first wif skunk smell is the best way to describe it. I have a poloroid that will show the difference taken in 1989. Congrats Kona. Hope you saved a clone of the number 3. Consider collided silver to make more seeds and clone like crazy.
