Lincoln Project Responds to Tucker Carlson's Rudy Giuliani Raid Tip Off Claim

The Lincoln Project and its founders have hit out at Fox News host Tucker Carlson after he claimed federal agents had sent details of a planned raid on Rudy Giuliani's home in New York City to the anti-Trump campaign group.

In a monologue on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Wednesday, Carlson said agents had seized all of Giuliani's digital records and personal devices. He then took aim at a tweet from the Lincoln Project which hinted that the campaign was aware of the planned raid beforehand.

"The Feds notified their allies at the Democratic Party's campaign operation the Lincoln Project," Carlson said. "The Lincoln Project then bragged online that they knew this raid was coming."

The Lincoln Project identifies as a group of Republicans and ex-Republicans who split with the party over the Trump administration's politics.

Reacting to the monologue, The Lincoln Project tweeted: "Nightly reminder that this guy is #TuckingCrazy." A video mash up of the Fox News host laughing was attached to the tweet.

"Tucker, the chair is against the wall. The chair is against the wall," Rick Wilson, a campaign co-founder, tweeted. "Also, if you travel, make it a non- extradition country."

His colleague Fred Wellman, the Lincoln Project's executive director, added: "I don't even have a lease for living rent free in Tucker's head." He posted a clip of Carlson's remarks along with his comment.

At the weekend, the Lincoln Project said it had heard from sources that "something BIG" was going to happen on Wednesday. After the news broke of federal investigators raiding Giuliani's New York City apartment yesterday, the campaign simply tweeted: "Told you..."

Newsweek has contacted the Lincoln Project for further comment.

Yeah, it's like the starter gun for the race to the prosecutor's door! Pompeo and Barr are in the running along with a few others, the Devil takes the hindmost and they all know it. I think they are really looking for Donald's head on a silver platter, specifically for the insurrection. It was the most serious of their crimes, Rudy doing PSAs confessing the big steal and other things as part of his plea deal, would put the cap on Trump's presidency and in the head of the GOP. It would also allow Donald to be disqualified from holding office with a simple majority vote in both the house and senate. They can hold that vote if Donald wins the 2024 republican nomination from his prison cell.

Trump allies worry Giuliani raid sent ‘strong message’ to ex-President’s inner circle

(CNN) —
A Wednesday raid by federal agents of an apartment and office belonging to former New York City mayor and one-time Donald Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani has left allies of the former President feeling uneasy about what could come next, according to sources close to Trump.

“This was a show of force that sent a strong message to a lot of people in Trump’s world that other things may be coming down the pipeline,” one Trump adviser told CNN.

The searches, which Giuliani and his attorney Robert Costello have criticized as unnecessary due to what they claim is his ongoing cooperation with investigators, were linked to a criminal probe of the former mayor’s business dealings in Ukraine and resulted in the seizure of several communications devices.

According to the Trump adviser, the raid ignited a sense of fear inside the former President’s orbit that Justice Department officials may be more willing to pursue investigations of the 45th president or his inner circle than many Trump allies had previously believed. Two other people close to the former President, who echoed these sentiments, declined to be quoted for this story.

Rudy is lining up his ducks and his lawyer is telling him that the starter gun for the race to the SDNY prosecutor's door has been fired. Barr and Pompeo don't want to die in prison and would be more credible witnesses, but Rudy knows the most, is the most vulnerable and was involved heavily in the "stop the steal" and the capital insurrection, as well as other conspiracies that involved Donald retaining power. Rudy has enough leverage to walk away, provided he delivers Trump's head on a silver platter for the insurrection and makes PSA's confessing the "big lie". He might do some time in Otisville, Cohen's alma mater and be under constant death threat from the Trump cult though.

I look forward to a thousand Trumpers trying to storm the courthouse in NYC during Trump's trial, it would make for some great TV. They would need to worry about the citizens more than the cops and they won't allow themselves to have the shit beat out of themselves either. Whipping them up might be a good project for the Russians, or patriotic Americans...

Well, here's an interesting twist:

Over the last few days since the raid of Rudy Giuliani's residence and business office, the major newspapers had reported that Rudy Giuliani (along with OAN news) had been warned by the FBI that the people they were dealing with were in fact Russian operatives.

Well, they've had to retract that statement as it turns out to be false. Found in the small type only articles is this:

Relevant text:
NBC News said in its correction that its story "was based on a source familiar with the matter, but a second source now says the briefing was only prepared for Giuliani and not delivered to him, in part over concerns it might complicate the criminal investigation of Giuliani."
One could argue that it's the FBI's fault. After all, they knew all along that Rudy was talking to a Russian operative and that the operative could be giving Rudy false information, but they did nothing to act on it.

It's going to be interesting to see if that comes back to bite the FBI right in the ass.

One likely will argue that it is anyone but the people who were helping manufacture and spread the Russian militaries propaganda to help Trump. I am guessing there are all kinds of people that Trump and his criminal syndicate are looking to toss under the bus.

Rudy Giuliani or Matt Gaetz - Who Might Be Indicted First?

We now know that both Rudy Giuliani and Matt Gaetz were on the receiving end of search warrants in investigations opened by Bill Barr's Department of Justice and presumably accelerated by Merrick Garland's DOJ.

Here's a discussion of some of the evidence against Gaetz and Giuliani. Given what we know about the status of each investigation (which admittedly is not all that much), which of this two Donald Trump loyalists might be indicted first?

Debunking Giuliani's Lies About Search Warrants & Piercing the Veil of Attorney-Client Privilege

After search warrants were executed on Rudy Giuliani's home and office, Rudy has been misleading anyone interested in listening to him, claiming the warrants were illegal or improper because they would have resulted in materials being seized that are protected by attorney-client privilege. Here is why Rudy is wrong: a discussion of how prosecutors deal with evidence that raise issues of attorney-client privilege and how prosecutors can pierce the privilege curtesy of the crime-fraud exception

Trump's Friends Are TERRIFIED That Giuliani Is Going To Flip On Him

Trump's closest allies are now terrified that the ongoing investigation into Rudy Giuliani is either going to point directly back to Trump, or that it could lead to Giuliani flipping on Donald. The truth is that Rudy is a loose cannon who says things without thinking, and if he flips on Trump it would likely be completely by accident. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Former Ukrainian prosecutor says he was fired for not investigating Hunter Biden: report
Former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka said in an interview published on Wednesday that he believes he was fired from his position last year for refusing to investigate President Biden’s son Hunter Biden at the request of Rudy Giuliani and former President Trump.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, Ryaboshapka said a recently published transcript of a phone call between Giuliani and Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, was proof that he had been fired for political reasons.

“It reveals an important detail,” Ryaboshapka told BuzzFeed. “Yermak promised Giuliani to open an investigation into Hunter Biden.”

“I didn’t know about the essence of the call. I didn’t know Yermak promised to help Giuliani,” he added.

In February, Time magazine obtained a transcript of a phone call between Giuliani and Yermak in which Giuliani demanded an investigation be opened that would help Trump win a second term in office.

"Let these investigations go forward,” Giuliani said to Yermak. “Get someone to investigate this.”

“Zelensky asked me several times if there are violations of the law in this case started by [former prosecutor general Yuriy] Lutsenko, violations by Hunter Biden,” Ryaboshapka said regarding the requested investigation. “We looked at 15 or 16 cases. We reviewed all of them and didn’t find anything that could be a violation of the law.”
