Seeking Spectrum advice for bloom

I have a bar type led with the ability to program red, blue and uv spectrums and am wondering if I’ve had things set up right. I’ve had a sunrise/sunset with the blue increasing/decreasing from 25% to 100% over an hour; and the red starting at 75% and going right to 100% after 15 minutes.
my question is basically this: should I be running blue spectrum at 100%, or should I dial it down a bit? I’m wondering if it’s contributing to longer flower times - I’ve had to run 8 week strains as long as 10 before trichomes are ready to start cutting.

8 weeks according to who? 10 weeks from start of flip or actually flowering?

8 weeks according to breeder. And that is counting from flip - im probably wrong in assuming the week or so of transition is accounted for in that time frame.
Any input on the spectrum question?

Which light ? ….. curious
It’s a budget brand …. Think grow if memory serves. But they use quality (Samsung diodes) components and had the ability to adjust/program spectrum independently where most of the other brands when I was looking did not. I seriously considered optic led (another company with the ability to adjust red, blue and uv independently) but think grow was way cheaper for what seemed to be a comparable light

No input what so ever on the spectrum. But I think you might be focusing on the wrong thing breeder timeliness are almost always short and not based in reality. Do you have a pic when you chopped?

Piece of advice- take ALL breeder estimates with a grain of salt. They are guides only ….

Either marketing BS or from “ test “ grows of strain under their conditions , sometimes under optimal circumstances.

Plant will finish when it finishes.
Based on your skill , grow environment for plants also.

Spectrum use can be suggestive among growers and their own circumstances.

To me , throwing as much useable light Both red and blue gives plant more of a complete spectrum as with naturally occurring sunlight . I have mentioned this before to those running light rigs with both “ veg “ and “ bloom “ switches. It was always best to run both on always.

Yes , you still can mimic sunrise / sunset programming if you like but simple on / off light cycles would be sufficient.

Now , the UV component…. That is where you can play around - i find using UV near early flower to end stages works well in pushing triches to “ protect “ itself hence frost up.

I say for that , start at intervals - as overuse can torch the shit out of some strains . However , if rig is equipped with some small led supplemental diodes on board then you can run them thruout grow.

Separate UV lamps can be very harmful if not careful.

Do I have a pic of which chop? I like to let em get to about here. And of course, those are absolutely just estimates, was just feeling like I was having to let things run a little long

I have had very, very few plants finish at 8 weeks. 10 to 12 is way more common IMO.
From seed, most breeders grow a shitload of plants and use the only fast flowering one as their 8 weeks from seed advertisement.

Short flower times sells beans.

Personally I have a hard enough time growing from seed to harvest with things like soil, nutrients, temp, humidity, light height and intensity. Good luck finding the magic spectrum recipe!

I’m assuming you’re referring to the second photo. It was foxtailing a bit from end of summer heat …. Majority of trichomes were where I wanted them, which I consider way more important than the colour of the pistils, just kept putting off new growth

Looking beautiful my friend! Well done, looks like you’re pushing them to their limit with that little bit of tip burn, but no other issues evident.
So you’re suggesting I dial down the blue end of the spectrum? Your results are pretty great

thanks man! Couple years of constant cycles and I’m definitely still trying to figure things out. Always have some kind of issue I’m chasing. Most of my issues probably come down to killing em with kindness…not to say I’ve ever 100% killed one of my babies, just that I probably tend to overdo things

Ok, I tend to recommend going by the whole look of the buds.
