2nd post - Germination, Propagation

I chose one Red Dragon, one King TUT, and Two from the Ace Seeds pack (which was a 5 pack, but had 6 seeds in it).

September 17th
I germinated with putting each seed in a glass of tap water, then in a cupboard with the door shut (room temp and dark) until they pop a root and then let it grow for another 24 hrs in there. The King TuT popped in about 14 hrs while the others took about 3 days.

September 20th
Once roots are ready, planted directly into 5"starter pots.

For medium I use Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix 018-010-010

I'm using this medium for all stages, as I use it for all my outdoor plants and flowers in summer and it works great. Yes it has Fungus Gnats, it's ok, I have them under control.

3rd post - Grow Room(s) and supplies used

I'm still undecided as to do a perpetual grow or what. Plan is 2 tents, one will be flowering with other is Vegging & Propagating. Not sure if I'll just do one plant flowering at a time, let it get massive with topping, LST and trellis, or go multi plant with clones and keep them smaller.... time will tell.

I ordered mostly off Amazon
- VIVOSUN Tents - 36"x 20"x 62" & 36"x 36"x 72"
- MARSHYDRO LED Lights - TSW1000(/w Temp+RH monitor) & TSW2000
- CE SMART HOMES Wi-Fi Smart Plug with Energy monitoring x 4 (programmable digital timers)
- ROYAL SOVEREIGN Clip-on Fans x 2
- iPOWER 4" Carbon Filter & 8' Ducting
- VIVOSUN 4" 203 CFM Inline Duct Fan
- VIVOSUN pH & TDS Meter Combo
- VIVOSUN 48"x 20.5" heating mat with controller
- VIVOSUN 5-Pack 5 Gallon grow bags / cloth pots
- VIVOSUN 3x3 Trellis Net
- ROOT FARMS pH Down
- Yardwe 10 Pack Seedling Starter Tray with Dome
- Homasy VicTsing 2.2L Humidifier

Dollorama or Dollar Stores are a great place to get all kinds of things. I bought a bunch of aluminum baking trays to use for bottom water trays, 3 for $1.50 for example. They have sprayer bottles, and other basic gardener stuff too like bamboo sticks, etc. Also, Hydrogen Peroxide and other cleaning supplies on the cheap... Cheese Cloth, strainers... etc. comparing with getting these things on Amazon or at a grow store, you will save A lot!

4th post - seedling stage

September 22nd - 0 days
After planting, I put the 4 seedlings into the VIVOSUN 36"x 20"x 62" with the MARSHYDRO TSW1000 @ 36" and 50% power on the dimmer.
- 18/6 light cycle.
- Temp is 24C - 26C
- RH 55%
- one 8" fan, on floor
- using ultrasonic humidifier on timer cycle to keep RH above 50%

They sprouted in short order. Here is the beginning.

Observations
- Noticed something wrong with the Ace #2 I thought it might be because the temp/RH monitor fell and might have fallen on it. Closer inspection, it's just a mutant. Going to keep it going and see what happens.
- Noticed some orange spots on the Red Dragon, not sure what it is, figure it might be because I was misting with a spray bottle and the light was too intense. After some reading, realized should not mist plants with light on!!!!
- The King TUT seems to be the most vigorous of the group. the Ace #1 second, Red Dragon seems most sensitive to light/temp.

- 1st feeding, I used Miracle-Gro Ultra-Bloom 15-30-15, as it's all I had on hand.... forgot that i ran out of the my VEG food, so need to pick some up, this will work ok though, it's a small dosage, and I used 5ml / 4 Gallon mix ratio. I gave each plant 250ml. This is only the 2nd time I've watered them at all.

Topping and Clones
Oct 21st - 28 days
Topped all 4, plus took a couple clippings from bottoms. cleaned up the clones and prepped for rooting, in plain tap water, I put clones in the smaller tent with the TSW1000 on 50% at max height of 48"

- I tossed out the Ace #2 top and cuttings as it's a mutant and not worth cloning I think.

- All the plants seem to be loving the environment so far and responded really well to the 1st feeding, even though it was a bloom mix. I also should mention I only bottom water, so the top of the soil is completely dry, and they love this, it keeps the Fungus Gnats at bay too.

- I re-arranged the mothers in the 3 x 3, putting them in corners so the light PAR isn't too intense and will leave them alone for a couple days to recover from topping, then I will start LST.

- My air flow is just open flaps and no inline fan or ducting yet, I plan to set this up soon.

- I also have some Red Chili Peppers, Serrano Peppers, & California Peppers going on a week now and in the other large pot, Garlic Cloves and planted a bed of white clover in the top dressing.

- I've now got my clip-on fans mid tent pointing towards the canopy, realized I am going to need one more fan for ground level.

Waited till pots were bone dry, and the plants still doing fine, not showing being thirsty yet, anyways, the point is I transplanted to 5gal fabric pots today, which I should have done originally.

Noticed a fungus gnats outbreak from my propagating peppers, so I soaked them last night with a solution of 4 parts water to 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide. They actually foamed up lol. Needles to say only flyers left, so out with the sticky traps.

I got a new bag of Miracle-Gro and threw out most of the old soil as I figured better to start with fresh soil, transplanted the girls and peppers.

I top dressed with white clover seeds, gave each pot 2 litres of water from the bottom, and misted the top.

Turned the light down to 50% to encourage some stretch.

Oct 28th - 35 days

Fed standard plant food 24-8-16 and watered, and trimmed bottom dying leaves today.

Got the inline fan going and circulating both tents on low. Need to program the smart switch tonight to have it run for a minute then off for 14 so it gets 4 fresh cycles per hour and see how that goes.

Lowered the TSW2000 to 24" and set to 85%.

As for my clones, I guess I had the light to high and the heating mat was set too cold as its been 7 days and no roots coming yet. Spent some time reading and learned. Set the TSW1000 to 36" and 50% power. I hope they still root!

November 5th - 43 days

Clone cuttings are still not rooting, its been 15 days, so I decided to try the rockwool and humidity dome method, using tap water after letting it breath for 48 hours, then pH to 5.9. They are still alive so should be good. Going to set the TSW1000 light to 24/0 @, 50%, keeping the tray to the side.

In the 3×3, Girls are finally settling in and have started stretching out. Even my mutant ACE 2 is looking great!

I have not watered for 12 days and they are totally happy and healthy no signs of drought yet. Using these fabric pots is great!

I pruned some lower fan leaves and will start doing LST soon. I have not decided if I'm going to top anymore yet, as there will already be 8 - 12 tops per plant, and this is just a personal grow and I'm not really interested in too much work to look after, then cure.
Temps are steady 26C - 28C
RH 50% - 60%
TSW2000 @ 24" & 100% (315w)

After much debate, I decided to go with Red Dragon as my 1st flower. Took cuttings from Red Dragon, started 8 new clones in a DIY Clone Bucket I built. Also topped, trained, cropped, mother, then Put into 12/12 @ 100% to start flower. 55 - 60 days spec'd so looking at 2nd week of February to finish. Just for reference, this was 1 week seedling on October 5th, so that's 2 months veg, with mainline topping 6 weeks ago.

Moved A1 and King Tut to the smaller tent, topped, trained, cropped & watered. For training I'm using pipe cleaners, I drilled holes in the aluminum trays and anchor to that.

I gave A2, (1st picture) the mutant, away to my friend, I didn't want to put the time into it, but honestly it was healthy and looking strong, so nothing really wrong with it other than it was mutant.

Clone Bucket is the "aquarium pump into pvc with sprayer jets, 1hr on/off timer, temp stays around 69-71.

FUCKING Thrips
! Brought home some Poinsettias from Costco two weeks ago, shortly after that, discovered splotches on my leaves, wasn't really sure what it was and didn't correlate the two, as it was only on the King Tut, another couple days I noticed Thrips damage, which you can see in the pictures I posted in my last post.... I just didn't know as this is my 1st time dealing with this, so then we knew, and the only way I could have brought them in was from those plants from Costco....... anyways... Ended up cropping all the damaged fan leaves and spraying/wiping with down every inch of my plants and tents with insecticidal soap (Bug B gone Eco) which seems to have squashed them.Yery important to get in under all the leaves and stems and crevices!

I also am happy to report that I no longer have any fungus gnats at all, bottom watering and fresh bags of Miracle Gro moisture control that was outside and frozen solid was the solution. I still hang the yellow strips but they are clean! this makes me happy. I will never top water a plant again except for seedling when it needs it.

I'm keeping the Ace and the King Tut on medium light and low temp to keep them from taking off, as it will be at least 2 months before I put one of them in the flowering tent next run and my Red Dragon clones are still not showing roots after 2 weeks... not sure what the problem is... other peoples videos and posts show roots in 7-10 days and massive roots ready to plant by 2 weeks.....

clones have rooted. Planted 3 of them, 3 others started roots and 2 have not ... the tiny ones. I took 3 fresh cuts from the Ace, changed out water in clone bucket, and put em in the cloner.

Red Dragons starting to show flowers now pretty good. Changed feed to MG bloom 15-30-15. Really liked it as she practically stood up after feeding her lol.

Why did you toss out the Ace #2? What did you mean by “ Mutant?”

Why did you toss out the Ace #2? What did you mean by “ Mutant?”
because I have limited space and didn't want to waste it on a mutant that may have problems. If you look at the picture you can see it's got some strange growth. I'm doing clones and only have room for a few so thats another reason, keep the best, destroy the rest. I ended up giving Ace #2 to a friend a month ago when I flipped the Red Dragon to 12/12, he's using it as a house plant. He hasn't pruned it and it's 4 ft tall now lol.

What was the end result of Ace #1?
Ace #1 (as well as the King Tut) is still in Veg, I'm taking clones and giving them away to friends. I'll be updating the journal later today.

Transplanted 3 Red Dragon clones. The previous 3 died. This time I made sure there was a better root growth and I put them in 1 gallon fabric pots instead of plastic cups.

The 3 cuttings I took from Ace#1 popped roots really quick and so now I know where to take cuts and how to prep em better. I took a single cut from the King tut and put it in the cloner.
Need to change the water soon, it's been a couple weeks.

Still having the battle with Thrips, seems like they are in the soil of these 2 new bags I bought, as I tossed those Poinsettias a week ago, welp, just have to spray every couple weeks. Going to pick up a bag of Diatomaceous earth off Amazon and top all my pots as I only bottom water. One thing is there isn't a single fungus gnat to be found, which I'm extremely happy about.

So I chopped all the dmg leaves from thrips and to be honest I don't want the Ace or King to get that big so I'm chopping lots off, to keep em small as well, and taking cuttings for clones as I go. I then sprayed them bug b gone eco, and let em sit in dark for six hours.

I have to spray the Red Dragon, do going to do it tonight a lights out.

In the 3x3, The Red Dragon is now 31 days flower today. White pistols are starting to brown. Temps avg 30C while light on 45% humidity. I copped off some yellow leaves as it looks like she was wanting to be fed, which I've oy been just giving tap water, so I fed her. She's not stretching a lot, I'm wondering if it's because my light is too high? The package does say shes a smaller plant, so maybe it is just what it is.

She's also starting to smell a bit, really nice pine hints. Time to hook up the carbon filter soon.

Thanks for the detailed reply man! I guess with freaks I have had I never thought anything of it and hoped for something good to come out of it. That’s why I was asking.
