Should I harvest?

Then it's an ACTUAL Molybdenum deficiency. Sure leaves do that in the fall/autumn.. but contrary to popular stoner belief.. the fruit/flowers should be harvested long before the NATURAL reddening(Molybdenum release) occurs. Think Apples. Oranges. Roses... All of them don't yellow/redden until after harvest. It's an inverse reaction to the slowing of photosynthesis. You will get plenty of pot. It will smoke just fine. BUT... your yield and quality are being affected. Doesn't matter who comes in this thread and tells you otherwise. Plants reddening and purpling to the extreme is normal but not supposed to occur until after harvest. Simply put : Because red leaves cannot photosynthesize, therefore NO MORE BUD can be produced.
You think buds lose weight if you wait until the leaves start fading to harvest? LMAO. We are talking about a weed here, not a fruit bearing tree. And fruit bearing trees are typically harvested early because 1 they drop their fruit (ground fruit is not useable) and 2 it takes time to get to market. They pick strawberries when they are still green/white in Mexico and ship them far north; by the time they get to their destination they are almost ripe-fully ripe. But anyone who knows whats up will guarantee you a frozen strawberry that was allowed to ripen on the plant and then flash frozen is healthier and better tasting than one picked to early. And if we want to talk about roses, I think fresh cut roses fucking stink. However old rotten roses start to let off a nice dank smell. I like my flowers well ripened. Obviously you dont. To each their own. Do you only eat green bananas? Because they get picked when they are green so that means that is when they are at their best? Personally I wont eat them until they are covered in at least 50% brown spots. Its all about preference and most people prefer ripe fruit or have never even had it because soooo many people rush to harvest.

#1.) where did I say anything about losing weight? How would that even be possible without removing fluids or mass??? No buddy, I said NO PHOTOSYNTHESIS... EQUALS... NO MORE FLOWER PRODUCTION. That's IT. FINITO. Fucking DONE producing weight. Crystal production is a different story. The "sap" is cannabis' last line of defense, and one of the last processes to cease function.

#2.) Exactly. Picked when they're still FRESH and allowed to age AFTERWARDS. JUST...LIKE....CANNABIS. It's called CURING.

You may want to study up up on roses and that smell lol It's called fermentation. Which produces alcohols. Which can definitely coorelate to resin production as a heft of flower's thc is in the form of alcohols until we decarboxylate it. That said, we've already established that crystals keep coming after "tHe FaDe".. but guess what doesn't? Leaves and Calyxes. Because pHoToSyNtHeSiS.

Anyone who is in a position to wait to pick fruit until it is ripe does. Bananas dont grow where i live therefore the must be picked early and shipped green. You think people in Costa Rica harvest bananas when they are green, store them, and then bring them to market? No, they harvest them when they are ripe and bring them to market the same day.

Yield is not being affected, it is staying the same. And quality is improving in my opinion.
Yeild IS being affected when the leaves are red, purple, orange or yellow... anything other than GREEN. Less Calyx production equals less yield. Not sure what's so hard to grasp there. I don't care if you prefer the taste, color or smell that "the fade" brings. It's also deficient and therefore is NOT producing flowers quality to it's full potential. This is pure undeniable logic. You said it in your previous post. YOU PREFER your flow such and such way. Lots of people do too. It doesn't mean they are supplying the optimum conditions/nutrients to their flowers.

Less yield compared to what? If your talking about a commercial grower who is itching to get the next batch into flower, sure. But the plant will not weigh less at the end, just takes a little longer. I would wager over 99% of the people on here are hobby growers who have no concern or issue with letting their plants go a couple weeks longer.

I never ONCE said anything about harvesting earlier. I said fix the fucking Molybdenum deficiency so she will still create calyxes. You know... so she can keep gaining WEIGHT until the trichs turn amber? As compared to letting your plant turn red and deficient in the final stretch to produce her flower. BECAUSE SHE WILL PRODUCE LESS CALYXES AND GAIN LESS MASS THAN SHE WOULD IF SHE WAS HEALTHY. Key word being HEALTHY.

Yeah. The ones who need hugs are the cats who think anything other than green is good in a cannabis plant. Even phenotypical expression of colors is due to something being off compared to the conditions it has bred into it's genetics. 100% fact. Do I like the red streaks in my stems? Fuck yeah. Are homeboy's red leaves nice looking? They're GORGEOUS. But none of that changes the biology of the cannabis plant. Sorry.

.

Chop anytime Ogy, she looks ripe. Some amber means that some trichomes are dying, don't let it go too long or you'll get a really sedative stone.

.
thank you this makes the most sense I checked the tricks and some are clear some cloudy and come are dark amber some cracked with amber or no tops and pointed amber!

What are the odds all those red leaves started cracking? Exactly. None of us know everything. But when somebody presents scientific explanation, it's at least worth a google or two to see if they know their stuff. And like I was saying, this plant still has some time. As said above, the longer you wait, the more sedative the plants cannabinoids will become. This plant can be harvested. But the trichs AND the fact that she hasn't pulled all the N from the fans, indicates she can go longer if you want. It's too late though in my opinion to deal with any deficiencies. It's water only time for her. Today or within the next week and a half, I'd say pull her.
