hello all, i am new to growing. i first started growing my plants about 10 days ago and they have been above soil for about 8-9 days or so. i have been using CFL lights as my lighting in my closet. and i thought it would be a good time get get a stronger bulb to grow under by now. So i went over to homedepot and i saw this Philips 120watt AGRO-LITE Plant light (the box does not say the Lumens on the light). i was looking at it and it said it was good for growing any plant indoors. So i assumed it was good for growing some MJ. However, before i put the light to my plants i put the bulb in and checked out the light and its output. It turned to be very bright with a bluish coating and it started emitting a good amount of heat which i knew was not good for plants (burning). But i thought if i had the plants far enough from the light it wouldent be too bad. But i dont want to do any damage before i actually start the lighting, so im just wondering would this light be good because its giving off all the correct lighting things, like some ultra violet, etc good for plant growth. But im just wondering how this would affect my plants with the heat and all. I was recommended by one of my friends who has been growing for years to use this light for growing and he apparantly has had success with it and i just dont know what to do and if i should use it i dont know how far to place the light away from my 9 day old plants. And if it is bad please explain why other than the fact that it gives off too much light cause i can space it far enough from the plants. Thanks, any help with this is greatly appreciated.
