So I'm pretty sure I'm banned from Target stores for life after today's transaction

The little things are what matter in life, right? On a hard day when you've been kicked in the nuts from sun up to sun down, and someone lets you in at a traffic light instead of cutting you off. Or someone holds a door open for you instead of letting it slam in your face on the way in to grab a sandwich and a short rest break at a Mcdonalds. The little things really matter. I needed another dehumidifier today because a unit I got factory reconditioned was defective. I planned to go to home depot because I never have any problems there at all. Wonderful company. Wonderful staff and procedures that keep it all running smooth. I saw a great deal on a unit of the same capacity at target. I thought $40 savings is $40 savings plain and simple. So I ordered it online for pickup on my target card for the 5% extra discount. I physically walked into the store, grabbed it off the shelf so they didn't have to, waited in line, and set it on the counter. I pulled up my order and let them know I was in the neighborhood and I grabbed it off the shelf so they didn't have to monkey with it. It's quite heavy and awkward. I really expected the same thing I get at home depot in this type of situation which is an emphatic "thank you!" from the person on the other side of the counter. It saves them the hassle of picking the item. So what happened at target today?

The polite young lady at the counter called her manager. The manager said I have to wait 2 hours to pick it up. I said the item is right here and paid for. What is the issue? Well, the picker has to scan it. Okay, can you have the picker scan it so I can get going? The young lady calls the manager back. She reaffirms her policy that I must wait the standard 2 hours. This made no sense to me. I asked for the manager who was relaying this policy via radio. She walks up to the counter and asks me "what's the problem?" I asked, "she didn't explain to you on the radio what's going on?" She says, "Yeah you have to wait the standard 2 hours." I then said, "With the item paid for, sitting on your counter, with your customer in front of you, with the invoice in hand, and you can't check me out?" She says, "No, you have to wait the 2 hours." At this point her behavior was unreasonable and arbitrary. She was just being a cunt. I then told her, "I have never had a problem with this at this store or home depot before, but today it's a problem because you're here. You know what? Go fuck yourself!" Then as I walk away she says, "have a nice day!" Of course I got the last word. "Go fuck yourself you fucking cunt!" I made a scene that drew gasps and comments from every single direction. And if it had happened to them they would completely understand my frustration. It is what it is. People suck and this is just another fine example of why I fucking order online and never go into a retail store. Shit bags like this always work there.

Shoppers seemed pretty mortified. People like her are everything that's wrong with this world. I drove across the street to home depot and gladly paid $40 more so I never have to deal with a stupid fucking cunt like that ever again. Some people just really enjoy making other people's lives more difficult just because they can. Last night I was shopping at home depot and there's always a homeless guy begging for money. As long as they're not drunk and I have some extra cash I always send a few bones out the window so they can buy a burger or a beer to make their day a little better. Yesterday I handed a dude a $10 because I didn't have anything smaller. I try to do little things everywhere I can because all of us are just trying to get through our day. How on earth does it make it easier for any of us to be assholes to one another just because we can? Needless to say I'm banned from target after today's transaction, and I'm not one bit upset about that. Fuck that fat unhappy cunt manager at Target. Love me some home depot baby :)

Yes the world is full of cunts mate, not causing a scene walking away and waiting the two hours would of saved you $40, I agree with you on everything btw, ridiculous fking customer service.

They don't really pay the managers much more than the people on the floor but give them authority. It goes to some people's heads. In times past I probably would have reacted the same way but these days I don't let idiots ruin my day. I probably would have left the store and came back in the two hours. But in the past I've knocked things over, spit on the door on the way out, let the birds fly while yelling profanities, etc... Life's too short to let even one day pass by all worked up because some nobody thought they were important.

Now go smoke a bowl and forget about it. :peace:

I’m sure the discount has to do with using the “pick up” option. Hence why the “picker” had to get it and scan for a discount. Not sure why this is hard to understand. Just another chance for you to be you, I guess.

Its not the clerks fault though. Its the layers of management putting things like this in place. Its a great example of the very worst of corporate and how humans in general are devolving into dumbfucks.
These asshats get paid loads of money and all they do day to day is dream up pointless beaurocracy .
If she didnt follow the protocol, she might have got in trouble. If her manager didnt follow his protocol (which is just to tell her what the protocol is) ,he might have..
It all traces back to some, sub-ceo asswad driving a porche with a privileged upbringing ,a meaningless ivy league degree and family friends in all the right places.

Homie, she was just being a cunt. I literally asked her, "why can't you scan it as picked?" Her answer was, "you have to wait the standard 2 hours." Then she just stared back at me with a stupid cunt look. I assure you it takes a monumental act of bullshit for me to come unglued in public. I have never done so before. I'm polite and respectful until someone gives me a reason to treat them otherwise. At least now all her co-workers know she's "the fucking cunt" in the building. Just in case there was any confusion before :)

Agreed. I asked for the manager who was refusing to scan my item as picked over the radio. I directed no ill will towards to lowly clerk. The manager was being a piece of shit. I held her accountable for her actions. No one else. My wife frequents this target all the time. Twice per week at least. We have never had an issue with the staff before. That's actually one of my favorite reasons to shop there. No more though. Home depot is great every single day. Clearly target needs to pay their managers more to be a little more professional or hire women that aren't unhappy because they're fat piles of shit in their mid 20's that no man wants to fuck. I understand her anger, however I didn't cause her problems with life. She needs to take that shit up with god. Not a customer just trying to checkout with a dehumidifier.

I asked for nothing special. I literally carried the fucking thing to the counter and presented my invoice and ID. What more can you do to be reasonable? For fuck's sake I was putting $200 in their till, and due to her fucked up customer service she got nothing but a "fuck you cunt."

She's just another reason why people like me are smart enough to order online. Today I just happened to need an item right away. I'll go to home depot from now on. Fuck Target.

Kinda seems like you maybe blew this out of proportion a little? I know exactly what OP is talking about with having to wait. Its how they pull orders. Plain and simple. If you wanted to just go in and pick it up, cancel your internet order and do so. I'm sure it states somewhere on that order page that you prob need to wait for an an email letting you know when to get it.

Employees, even managers, don't have much power in these corporate chain stores. They've got to toe the company line and they have people making all sorts of demands of them that go against the "rules" on a daily basis. Think about this situation from their perspective, what if they actually DID have to wait the 2 hours to sell it to you? You probably just made them both have a terrible day. I would have been frustrated in your situation too, but consider their point of view next time and maybe have a little empathy.

I agree I'm a complete fucking prick. No questions asked. That's why I order online. Let UPS deal with the shit bags on the road. Let the warehouse workers deal with finding and packing the item. People suck for the most part and the less you have to deal with them the better life is. This is why Amazon is so successful. They know people suck. So they took people out of the equation as much as humanly possible. And that's why Bezos is the richest asshole on the planet. I should have just walked away, canceled my order, and moved on with my day. But the shitty manner in which the manager handled the situation made me angry enough that I exercised some poor judgment myself. For that I am regretful. I realize my horrid crippling bipolar disorder makes it difficult to interact in any way with other human beings. Target convinced me to reassess how badly I need something right away after this experience.

Order online. It's a way of life. A much less frustrating way of life.

That's so cute and adorable. You've gotta be in your late teens or 20s with no kids and an abundance of time in your life. You'll understand when a cunt is wasting your time just to be a cunt when you get older. It's an unfortunate occurrence, but a part of daily life the older you get. Eventually you just strategize to avoid all cunts except the one you're fucking :)

No I'm prob as old as you or older. You said it before in another post. The prob is not them, its you. You have bipolar disorder and freak out on employees when they are following the rules. They did nothing wrong. You wanted them to break their own policies to make your life easier. Super funny cause I was gonna ask you the same thing considering your outburst in a public place.

Managers like this are the worst kinds of people to hold any type of position with power and it's guaranteed moments like these are the highlights of their days. There probably is a policy in place but it could be bypassed. Surely for covid? Really gonna make Jonny come back during a pandemic?? She could've made an exception but chose not to.
