so I have 1 Skywalker go by ilgm @ 30 days from sprout on nov.30th
in 1 gallon pot with a mix of peat moss, chicken and steer manure, perlite ratio of 3-1-1 with 1 tbs of dolomite lime and 2 tbs of dr.earth green bag(veg) , also have fed 1xfish Fert @511 at quarter strength .5 tbs per half gallon

the ph of the base mix was at 6.0 before adding the lime and dry ferts ..tested with rapitest pills kit

my recent run off after watering with plain r/o water phd to 6.0 with a bit of organic TNB ph down and baking soda for ph up ..
I captured the first runoff and tested it with the my ph pen and it read 8.0-8.1

for ph testing I have the rapitest kit, ph pen and ph test strips the I can use to test run off and will be doing a soil sample test also for more accurate measurement

anyways so my runoff yesterday was at 8.0-8.1 , could it have been the 1 tbs of lime in the 1 gallon of mix the was at 6.0 ph? maybe the rapitest wasn't as accurate and maybe ph was higher? im thinking its the lime this causing the problem cause all I've use is dolomite 1 tbs,2tbsdr.earth and 1 feeding of fish Fert@ 511 @ quarter strength half tbs per half gallon ...

any ideas what can be causing high ph run off ? and how can I fix it ?

ill upload pics soon as im able too but any input in the meantime would be appreciated

Omg the run-off pH thing...should i even be doing this...
It means the run-off has washed out mostly alkaline minerals and soluble 'stuff'
Idc about the whole testing run off thing, im just answering his question. That's what a 6.0 going in and an 8.0 coming out means...it washed a bunch of shit out that's alkaline.
Alkaline soluble mineral google search
Now where did i leave my flame retardant suit?
His 2nd question is how to fix it...yeah don't know sorry

Flame on!

JK man. You're correct though. Probably some of the lime and shit getting flushed out and raising runoff. Doesn't mean the soil pH is 8 though. His soil pH is probably fine. That's why I always say runff can give you an idea, but it can also be misleading.

People get so worked up in these threads about runoff pH, lol.

Dude, post a picture or 5 in normal light of the plants in this medium. You can't even describe how they look. Pictures are a must.

Wana know the soil pH? Get a soil pH pen.
Dont know why you care about ph and runoff if you're running organic.
Ro water doesnt have EC to get a reading on a pH meter.

WTF are you seeing on these that has you concerned? Read the plant. Not some bullshit post about runoff pH. Especially when they look very good. So far at least.
just a lot of misinformation out there the beigginers gotta sift thru and see what works cause when u do try and get on the websites some people can be assholes and belittle others for not knowing everything off the bat, but sorry if I snapped just a lot of the belittling the I see and have experienced and im the type that doesn't like to see others being bullied specially if they can't defend themselves

but yeah thanks for the input
