I have grown in only FFOF, but heard it was hard on alot of plants. So my qeustion is I am wanting to switch to Happy Frog? Can I add nutes at seedling stage with Happy Frog soil and not harm plants?

Sounds like you're using organics. If that's the case why not reuse the FFOF?

I tried once to reuse mine but damn so many roots was a pain in the butthole to clean. Do recompose it all to use on tomato and pepper garden
Yah, same I was a pain in the ass to try and reuse.
I turned my old FFOF into no-till soil. The microbes will decompose the roots. Then the old roots becomes food for the new plants.
Awesome thing to know though, very interesting. So if I pull this stalk put with whatever root ball comes out. Maybe add a thin top layer and just plant a new seed?

I just chop the plant and leave the stump. It will just fall right out after a month or so. You don't need to remove the stump at all, but that's what I've been doing. Then I plant a new plant in it's place. I'm super lazy so this works for me.

FFOF is not hard on any plants. Happy Frog has less nutrients in it than FFOF, so it is a good starter mix, but not necessary if already using FFOF.

If you harvest your plant and keep the pot moist for a few weeks, after you can just tug the main stock and it should side right out with almost no roots on it. And the roots in your container are almost already decomposed completely. If you time it right it works amazing. I've heard of some people just pulling out stock and putting in a new plant.

That is very interesting, so you are re-using the soil and it isn't causing you a lot of issues? Are you top-dressing, is that what you mean by no-till? How many cycles do you run your pots of soil like this? Doesn't the soil eventually just get so bad and used up, you are forced to either till it or maybe throw it away? What are you amending it with if you don't mind me asking you all these questions. If you have time to reply and are willing, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Not sure I see the logic, you want to use something cooler on seedlings which I agree with but then you want to take a cooler soil and heat it up? Also you said you only grow in ffof but “ heard” it was hard on plants. What have you seen? I start in seedling mix then upot to ffof no nutes for weeks.

I've been reusing it for over 3 years now. I started with FFOF and then added a bunch of stuff after 2-3 runs. I just top dress usually.

I did just add a little more pumice to my old soil for this upcoming round. But this is the first time I've tilled anything in over 2 years.

These are my sad plants at 55 days since flip that I was totally neglecting. Haven't top dressed them in a long time and they're kinda pissed . These pots would like more aeration too for next time, so I'll add some more stuff to these too.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly, lol. I already chopped ugly, lol.

People misinterpret hot soil vs HOT soil. I get what you're saying, but hot vs cold is really the way to describe the differences between FFOF and FFHF.

When people talk about cooking soil they aren't talking about actually cooking it, it's letting the microbes and shit break down the stuff and some shit breaks down fast if you have a healthy microherd creating a crazy amount of heat.

Sorry for getting logical, lol.

Hey! Thank you very much for the reply and posting these pics. Those look fantastic! Killer looking buds, man and it is great that you can get multiple uses out of the soil, that is the ticket. I am lazy too, and economical and lazy approaches are what I am always seeking out too! Thanks for sharing those with me, and keep up the good work!

Those are really sad. But I didn't love them enough when they were younger, lol. Thanks though.

Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions. I'm no Jedi Master though like my avatar might make you believe.

Humble I am, lol.

No I was just asking "can" I use nutes with happy frog before you could with fFOF. So I was just asking, but I just did a 50/50 mix and everything has been fine. I haven't used anything until day 40 or close to it. One plant has started giving me problems and I top dressed with FFOF like people said to. But I think the CalMag I used 2 weeks prior which I only used 5ML to a gallon of water and I think it locked out my P K. Not sure thoigh but one plant is doing fine and thr other has some shit with her. And I don't get the buds are stacking.nice but I can separate thrm like the buds are airy and I have lots.of light in my 2x4. So maybe just strain related to the airy buds?20220119_152039.jpg20220119_174429.jpg
