Hello RIU!

Been lurking this forum for a few months and I finally decided to join and start a journal. Here is my bloom cabinet:
20190307_084248.jpg
It started life as a Supercloset Supernova. As everyone warned me, Superclosets come with the cheapest parts available to start a grow, all in a metal storage cabinet. Over the last couple years I have gutted the entire thing - new ventillation, new reservoir system, new lighting. At this point I have a setup that is fairly optimized for growing 3 plants in a 2x4 space.
Lighting:
20190307_084258.jpg 20190106_145416.jpg
The light in here now is a QB fixture I built a few months ago. 3 * QB288s, one centered over each grow site in my RDWC rig. Between the 288s I have a pair of Growmau far red pucks for sleep initiation. On the edges I have 2 * QB18s for Emerson effect.
Current plants:
20190307_084915.jpg 20190307_084921.jpg
These are a trio of Liberty Hazes all cloned from the same original plant - they have all been manifolded nebula-haze style. Usually I would be scrogging them, but I am a bit time constrained this grow so will be doing a straight manifold.

My plan is to flip them to bloom this weekend. I am going to go with this schedule:
-13:20 of Full-spectrum boards
(Will be adding Emerson boards post-stretch)
-0:10 Far red pucks
-10:30 lights off

This may be the last grow I finish in this cabinet. I am getting a new room on my house this summer and will have a new basement area to set up a grow environment in. I'll likely be ordering a custom Green Qube tent for 4 better-spaced plants when I can do my next grow...

Beautiful light fixture, plants look healthy...

i’m glad timing has forced you into no scrog...you’ll learn a lot, and may never go back...

start thinking about how you are gonna position mains, by tying from below so you get the most light penetration...

Yep - gonna go back to using the eyelet screws this weekend. Stopped using them when I thought I was gonna screen, but gotta get back on them.
I figure a little extra branch culling on Saturday so the big 8 mains are more accessible for tying, then I'll get them strapped back down.
The stems are quite stiff - spreading them out as much as I really want may be difficult... we'll see.

Put some tension on them a couple nodes below top, pull slightly tighter each day, move tie point up as upper internodes strengthen....slow but steady takes time & effort, but gets the job done well..

Oh I know the process - the nodes are so tight and the branches are quite thick. It's gonna be challenging, but not impossible.

Hey man, I don't know if I ever saw your setup on GC. You got a sweet thang going on in there! You got those emerson effect lights and the far reds like OG. Nice job on the light build!! And your plants look outstanding. All Liberty Haze. I'm growing 2 of those too. Heard great things about that strain but never tried it yet.

I'm curious how you've used a scrog with mainlined plants in the past. I'll be installing scrogs over mine in a few weeks.

I grew LibHaze before in my 2nd ever grow and had it go hermie on me and had to harvest early. I've heard good things too - hoping to better achieve them this grow.

As far as manifold-to-scrog goes, it's not at all difficult. My screens have been rectangular instead of squares due to my small space, so I have done the nebulahaze-style method of doing the first topping to get 2 mains, then keeping 4 mains off each of those for 8 total.
Treat the manifolding as a means to ensure relatively even plumbing across all potential growth tips, then let them grow into your screen. Cull extra tips that crowd the screen too much and flip to bloom when your screens are 80%(ish) full.

I'll dig up some pictures of my last grow with Crimea Blue later on. I was using a 3-board qb288v1 fixture for that grow and achieved 1.5lb in my space with this method. It would probably be easier to show the full training method with those plants - these libhazes are so friggin tight it's hard to even be able to tell that there are 8 mains on them lol

OK here's process part 1. These were also a trio of clones -- first picture will be right before the first topping (while they were still in my starter/veg tent)...
20180830_095032.jpg Top to node 3 or 4...
20180830_095531.jpg Let them grow...
20180906_213926.jpg Top and keep nodes 1 & 3 on each new main...

Transplant into bloom box...

Veg some more, install screens...
20180920_095740.jpg 20180923_184326.jpg Let the screens fill, flip when they are mostly full (not sure if these next pics were right before or a little after flipping)... I did clear out any growth under the screens that was not getting light.

Run the bloom cycle for 10-12 weeks and you get...
20181207_090935.jpg And when you chop them down you have some nice racks of antlers to throw up in the trophy room!

Very nice!

Nice disco lights...

Many growers forget that last piece...could be they’re growing in what used to be their trophy room....

I gotta sell those side bars probably. Not gonna use them this grow, and probably won't have magnet-friendly walls for the next one...

Looks like I have a potential excess of P or K going on with the left plant - but given I am switching to bloom tomorrow I'm not sure I should worry too much. Once buds start forming they'll need a lot more of each.
20190308_082455.jpg 20190308_082501.jpg
I also realize now that excess P & K can both contribute to squat growth. I may adjust my Base:Grow ratio for the next grow...
