Super Scrog Method - Real or BS?

I recently came across a YT video that tries to promote a "half-pipe" kind of looking net for scrog and claims that the traditional way of making a scrog doesn't actually distribute light evenly for all the canopies... with some false claims as the parts below the net would not get light and produce popcorn buds as if anyone would not choose to lollipop in a scrog. So their method claims to produce 1.5-2x more yield than the usual scrog.

Now although I believe this method might have some benefits as it increases the total area to distribute a highly stretching plant, I think it is actually also causing uneven lighting on the contrary to what they claim. And those outer parts is not really a scrog but more like a vertical growth... so... I have my doubts.

I thought maybe I could use a similar net that bends only just towards the further side of my tent where I could reach and not obscure my actual playground and see if I can benefit from it. But I'm not also really sure if it's even worth trying...

Please see the video for yourself, what do you guys think?

Yea. The Halfpipe idea is dipping into stadium vert grows. It can be done in a scrog like that, or you can set up "bleachers" and do multiple small plants

First time I heard about such a thing and it's kind of intriguing after looking into it. So I might give it a try with a single side bend I was talking about.
Thanks for the info.

There's a guy on here from Ukraine. He hangs a bulb in the center of a tube shaped trellis. His work is amazing. His method is just like that but 360° around the plant.
After looking up the info T Macc has given, I found this page that explains the style you're talking about as Circular Vertical Growing (if I didn't get it wrong). But that seems way too advanced for me right now :) And weirdly I couldn't find any real-life examples of this method... :/

I think all that does is make the larf not so larfy.. which isn't a bad thing.
This means you keep what would have been chopped below the net.

Parabolic scrog.

There was a dude on here years ago pulling awesome weight from a 400w light in a stealth cabinet by running his scrog net part way up the sides of the cabinet to increase his canopy space.
