SuperSoil Recipe (Any Suggestions?)

Hey all. I'm working on a supersoil recipe that I will be using(and tweaking) from now on.

So far this is the recipe:

  1. 3.8-CF Pro Mix HP High Porosity with Mycorise
  2. Perlite in a 1:4 ratio with the pro-mix -- which is about 1 cubic foot of Perlite here.
  3. 5 pounds organic worm castings
  4. 1 Pounds Vermiculite
  5. one pound green sand
  6. one pound loamy sand (normal sand, unwashed)
  7. one pound kelp meal
  8. one pound alfalfa meal
  9. 1/4 cup Epsom salt
  10. I add a tiny bit of Dolomite lime, but not much since pro-mix already contains it.
  11. About 3 tablespoons of super water-retaining gel. (Or just one fist full thrown in the mix)
    1. Google: Water absorbing crystal, polymer

I am using this mix (but welcome suggestions for additions..) I also plan to feed the plants using it with Advanced Nutrients CoCo 2 part.

What are your 'goto' soil mixes? Organic, or soil-less hydro mixes?

Edited:

  • Reduced amount of Kelp/Alfalfa Meal to correct Proportions 1 Tablespoon per gallon of total soil Each.
  • Edit amount of Super-Water-Retaining-Gel to 1/2 tsp per gallon of soil.
  • Added Rock Phosphate same ratio as kelp/Alfalfa meal. 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil.
  • Added Blood/Bone meal in 1/2 Tablespoon per gallon of soil
  • added 1/2 Tablespoon Fish Meal per gallon of soil
  • Add pre-packed bacteria/fungi additives (Great White, Advanced Nutrients Voodoo juice) Whatever. Just to kick start the process.

After mixing the soil up, you put it in large black trash-bags, and get the soil moist (not wet, just moist) Then let it sit 30 days, adding a tiny bit of moisture when needed.

When using this mix you fill the bottom 1/3 of your pot with this soil, then for the top 2/3 you use whatever normal soil you generally use. Roots Organic/FFOF, etc.

This is just my take on the organic super-soil.. What do you guys use? OR what have you had good luck with?
