T5 set up in 2ftx2.5ft tent

I currently have a 2ftx2.5ft tent and am running a 600w hps in it.

I want to veg for a month more and am thinking about using a t5 2ftx2ft in the top and then two 1ft x 4ft t5's on the sides instead of using the hps. Do you think this would be a good idea? Would i get better growth for vegging out of them too? I want to put some clones in there as well and know the hps would be way too much for them. That's why I want to put the t5's.

I veg with T5s. Bring them down really close to the tops of the plants. Throw some 5000k bulbs in if you can.
Unlikely to be better than the HPS, but should be sufficient. You'll have a little less heat.
Would there be a significant decrease in productivity using a 5500k spectrum over a 5000k?

You would get better branching. I was reading a thread a year or 2 ago; blue light on the stems causes more leaves and branches to shield itself from the light.

Also, you can veg with an HPS if you wanted

Makes sense if you were responding to me. I have two (2) bulb ballasts beside each-other equipped one with 4100k and one with 5500k. Obviously the plants below get a mixture of spectrums so to say, but the young girls predominantly below the blue light began noticeably throwing new growth between nodes comparatively to the more yellow light.

Its 2 4 ft 8 bulb HO and I drop them in damn close. I raise them just a few inches when plants start touching the bulbs. You can see some burnt tips in there from touching lol.
These plants were on their mothers just about 7 weeks ago.
Nice!
Ive got 12 less bulbs and several less plants. Although Ive drawn the conclusion that my lights are too far above my plants, About 16” or 18” and seeing growth. If i drop the lights to maybe 12” would I see a higher growth rate from the plants? Is 12” still too high? Two different aged plants. (10 days from seed and 23 days from seed)

Are we talking the hps or t5?
I run fresh clones and seedlings about a foot under a 2ft 4 bulb t5 24/7
Never used hps, but if were talking about the T5s, drop them down low! Like 4 inches and you gotta raise them a bit when you check on them because they're almost in the light.
Most of the heat from a T5 comes from the ballasts, they have to touch bulbs for several hours or more to burn.

4 foot ballast, 4 bulbs T8’s. 32w, 1800 lumens each.

My cats get curious and stand at the basement door if I prop it open, but they know better than to go down there. I've tried to get my dog to come hang out while I take care of stuff, but he doesnt like it down there and he wont stay with me lol
