Ted Lasso moments

I was enjoying Tropicana Cookies this AM on my front porch watching the sun come up. What a beautiful day. Then out of the corner of my eye I notice my neighbor. She's retrieving her newspaper. We are the only two people awake in the neighborhood and all you can hear are the birds. She's wearing a red beanie and huddled down like it's a chilly winter in Alaska. She is down so low I can only see her head over the cars in the next drive but I'd bet she was wearing her PJ's. Being raised in the South I wave a little enthusiastically so she notices me and give her a kinda deep, raspy happy stoner's version of "Good Morning!". I was a little dry-mouthed so I don't think she heard me or saw me. It didn't dawn upon me that she didn't want to be seen until she snuck out again to pickup something she apparently dropped. She turned to scuttle back and I just smiled and thought "Oh yeah, leave that alone. Let her have her moment."

I'm not "being a gomer" ever again. From now own those will be "Ted Lasso moments". It's a beautiful day.

I was headed to work one morning and got to the stop sign at the end of the street and a woman in a babydoll nightgown was chasing down her kid in the front yard. She noticed I was staring after she grabbed her kid. I enjoyed watching her walk back in the house with kid in tow.
