tf are these worm-things?

I noticed a few of them on the rockwool / Root Riot plugs of my seedlings. It looks like they are munching on algae. They hid as soon as I started watering.

They are kind of big, like two grains of rice long. They have a black head and the body is translucent aside from their digestive tract. I've never seen them before.

Kill them. Kill them with fire! I have no clue, that's just my first response to any bug that's not a ladybug or praying mantis. Hopefully someone smarter will be along shortly. Cool pics by the way, I can never get good macro shots. My hands shake like a meth head on pay day.
Add springtails to your list of "dont kill me" bugs ;)

I would recommend sns products. And using some essential oils and your finger or a q tip and rubbing around the rim of your pots. Will keep flyers away while sns kill larva. I always use oils and a preventative
