THC to CBN

Hi, first time post long time grower.
i was wondering if anyone has ever purposely degraded their bud?

As we know, THC degrades into CBN which is a powerful sedative and I really want a jar of sedation smoke lol!!! Plus im an anxiety freak and some times i just want to smoke and not feel that anxious.

so far iv got some in sunlight and iv read THC needs to Oxidise to become CBN. So do i cure it in a jar in sunlight? Or do i lay it out for a day then put it back in a jar?

thanks for any replies!

you dont want the jars if your going for cbn, just leave the buds out todegrade, ive no idea how long you will have to leave them.
but if your after a sedating high, just let them flower for the fullest time you can, that way you get a heavy body stone from your crop
if cbn was that strong im sure you would have read about it on the site,

I usually let them go until there is at least 30% amber but thats just personal preference.
iv read i think on leafly that it is more sedative than valium. I think most people only know about THC and CBD where as little is known about CBN. There was one story of bud found in a tomb that was 2500 yrs old. Brittle buds but potent sedative!

There is a thread around this site(I’d have to search to find it), where a guy did exactly what you are talking about. They went so far as to make a concentrate and tried to convert that to cbn.

They described very strong effects, almost similar to an opioid at relatively low doses.

I’ll have to have a ganders for that, thats exactly what im after. Just to have a stash of that would be great.

Holy fuck, imagine what those trikes looked like! Now that's the kind of amber alert I don't mind seeing

If you're interested, I'll be experimenting w/CBN soon. That means I'll be late-harvesting quite a few of my plants this season (my 2nd time growing ever). I'll also attempt to make CBN by converting the THC in existing cured flower. I've got an ardent nova (arriving in a few days), an edi-box, and a mighty fast herbal infuser, along with a fuckton of coconut oil and 151 rum. If that t-check thingy measured each cannabinoid, I'd totally buy it and use it but until then, I'll have to either go by feel or shell out $50 for a lab test. Oh and I think I'll try making CBN a third way by leaving a few grams near a sunny window for a month.

again, a device that would check levels of each cannabinoid as opposed to total cannabinoids like the tcheck would be perfect here

i know there are some relatively cheap testing kits. Alpha-cat is one of them. You can test for cannabinoids at home. Sounds like a good experiment you got going on!!

You could always age some THC laden MCT oil for a year and let it naturally degrade.

I made some super potent infused MCT oil a couple years ago. I did my usual lick the spatula clean when I was cleaning up and got high as fuck. I’m not sure why but I decided to hide two vials of the freshly made oil in the back of the cupboard. I completely forgot about them for a couple years. I tried them recently and it’s pretty much useless for getting high, but it’s fantastic for falling asleep. Been taking a few drops every night and sleeping fantastic.
