Has anyone seen this new movie on Netflix about the Chicago 7?

It is about the trial of the protest leaders who stood against the Vietnam War. It feels so relevant today even though it happened so long ago. Sad but inspiring story on how people should always stand up against unjust wars.

Makes me wonder if back then it was as much 'leaders' as it would have been a bunch of individuals collectively demanding better, and those are the ones they made an example of. If Trump/Barr get their way they would paint that kind of narrative on a handful of people with a similar response to these protests, but we know differently about today's protests.

I don't know anything of the time because it was not something I was old enough to understand what was going on at the time to really trust what I think I know, but it would be interesting to have people from that era consider that possibility.

Ill have to check that out, thank you.

I'm worried that if Trump loses the election he still has a couple of months to do something crazy, like start a war. They make a scene about it in the HBO series Years and Years.

He may well saber rattle, but outside of stupid tariffs to a point, there are laws that our military follows from how I understand it that stop his ability to just start a war.

I would be more worried about Putin starting a war to suck America into. It is really on Russia to figure out how far they are willing to go to troll democracy.
