would've been our Social Security Trust Fund but since he didn't plan on not being president..what to do..what to do?

Ahhh! con the 23 (Florida just joined) red states to take the money from Federal Unemployment Insurance and donate that money to a certain slush fund because where is he getting money for anything?- he's flat broke.

THE STATES ALREADY HAVE THE MONEY FROM THE AMERICAN FAMILIES RESCUE PLAN ACT OF 2021- DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE IT BACK? HE'S STEALING FROM OUR RESCUE PLAN THAT WE NEEDED RESCUING FROM HIM.

this dude is wicked evil they're going to need to quarter him and bury each piece at four different places around the globe.

It is insanity, the GQP is just straight up acting like they are thugs in charge in these states that they were able to gerrymander in their favor.

i have to tell you that stepping away and looking at the picture as a whole..i'm scared..ignoring the presidents policy and not paying citizens monies earmarked for them?

this is going to be some sort of line in the sand that he stepped over which is coming back to him.

i see this as being huge once everyone realizes what is going on.

They are all acting like Putin and the dictator that just hijacked the airplane.

And they are pulling the bad guy trick of just believing that the Democrats are not going to just do the right and lawful things and hope for the best.

It really is spooky how far it has went.

When states slash federal aid, they don't get to pocket the money.

I mean, Trump and Republicans are corrupt as all hell. No doubt they would keep it if they could, but that's not how it works. States are REFUSING aid, not re-directing the money to Trump.

they're not refusing aid, they're refusing to pay the aid to it's recipients

you sure about the American Rescue Act perimeters and that they already don't have that Federal money?

well one of us needs to research the Bill and see what it says.

Congress has time off now; can't wait for them to go home and face their constituents over the cancelled UI..lots of news coming up..i forsee them barricading themselves in their offices so the crowd can't get to them..they won't have the Capitol Police to protect them just their lame local boys half of which are dirty.

The articles I've read say states are cutting off federal aid from recipients.

The aid does not go into state coffers. I'd be glad to read whatever you want to cite but all I find is that the states are cutting off aid, not that they are profiting from it.

For example:

States are withdrawing from programs enacted by the CARES Act in March 2020.
Together, the programs raised the amount of weekly aid, extended its duration and offered funds to workers who don’t typically qualify for state benefits.

How will my benefits change?
States will no longer issue an extra $300 a week to workers.
Those receiving state benefits will continue getting that aid, which generally amounts to half their pre-layoff wages. The average person got $350 a week in state benefits in March, according to the Labor Department.
(Benefits vary widely by state. Among opt-out states, for example, they ranged from $195 a week in Mississippi to $480 in North Dakota.)

It's a pretty good and comprehensive article. All it says is states are withdrawing from the program. Not that states are redirecting the aid money. I don't think they are legally able to, either.

Why doesn't slashing corporate welfare such as R&D credits create incentive? The corporations would be forced to invest more for the same profits. I mean, since corporations speak for people per the Supreme Court, then they must have the same incentives & disincentives.

The states don't collect fed unemployment aid when they cut recipients off. But I don't mind if you want to be wrong. It's OK with me.
