The longer the curing the better the high?

I’ve had buds curing in mason jars for close to 6 months now and in the beginning - after curing for over a month, I wasn’t that impressed. They were my first grow. Anyway, when smoking it now, the high is amazing. Does anyone agree that the longer you can cure the better?

Define better. After 6 months the high becomes more mellow ime. Flavour is compromised a wee bitty.

Personally I find the best flavours/high are around the 2 month mark 3)

I'm a fan of fresh weed. I dry mine, trim it up nice, then cure it until the moisture level is 62 percent. Once there it's time to smoke. I don't think a long cure does much. My belief is you're trying to preserve the bud, not ferment it. It oxidants over time, and if anything you're losing terps and eventually THC.

It’s kind of like I say about eliquid (as I’m an ELIQUID creator) people talk about steeping (aka curing) your liquid.

steeping isn’t going to turn a shit liquid into a great liquid. But what steeping does do is homogenise your liquid into a more rounded flavour allowing the flavours to blend with each other.

that’s what I’ve found with curing weed too.

curing isnt going to make shit weed great. It will only make good weed better.

but there is a time limit on these things.

freezing bud for longer Storage is best if you want to keep that freshness IME.

Thank you very much. I have some curing right now that I’ve gone about three weeks and the humidity stays at 60. So I’m thinking it’s ready. Just charge the smoke at all. LOL

Great information - Thank you. I am worried about the stuff I have that is six months old. I wonder if it’s too late to freeze it.

I have been trying to ask another question on here. It’s on another thread. It’s about a K auto and if it’s ready to harvest. One-year-old seed So it took longer to bloom and now is at 17 weeks. I never have seen any Amber trichomes on any of mine. And keep waiting on them with this one. Not many, just about 10 to 20%.

l’ve been making e-liquid for 7 or 8 years and I don’t believe steeping does anything either. You’re mixing flavors with oil. Of anything the flavors have steeped since the time they were created. But who know? I could be wrong. I’ve just personally never noticed any difference.

I do think cannabis mellows a little with time, but not a whole lot. I definitely don’t think it “unlocks the thc” as an infamous poster once stated.

I dry mine and start smoking it. I don't like old cured weed. I like it fresh. It doesn't get more potent sitting in a jar for months and in my opinion the longer it sits the more flavor is lost. 6 months is past my shelf life and would be used for dry ice hash.
Dry ice hash. I have been making gummy bears and etc. and they’ve worked really well. I don’t know about dry ice hash. But would love to. Thank you so much for the helpful information. All of this really means a lot. Have become obsessed with the growing process and etc.

Would you mind looking at my AK auto and telling me what you think please? It looks the way it does because I started flushing it because I thought it was ready. Now someone told me it’s not ready.
Still has white pistils and the red ones haven't receded. Still awhile to go..
