The "Not just one subjec thread."

Hey guys, I'm making this thread to discuss anything and everything and to keep people I just met together so I don't lose track of what's going on. Hope it works out! I've just had to chop and renew my grow rooms and start over from cuttings to eradicate all the pests that have just spawned from some bags of FFOF recently. I was in the middle of starting a new F & D, a new Aero setup, some coco coir drippers, and some organic soil grows that were doing just awesome until every damn bug you can think of hatched out of that shitty soil and started gobbling up all the leaves and flowers. From thrips to springtails to spider mites to whiteflies to aphids, every single one was in that bag of dirt. I've never had bugs before except when I have purchased these bags of dirt so I am positive that's where they came from. Everything was doing great up to this point. I will never buy another bag of dirt again, ever never ever. Thank you for your support and kind words. It's been a rough week to say the least.

Any chance of posting pics of your aero system with the mist king pump would love to see it. (if it's safe and legal for you to show)
I'm currently attempting to clone TB hpa but also want to make a simpler hpa as well

About damn time:bigjoint:

I haven't checked yet this morning, but your w/d cycle tip is paying off. Yeah would love to see a few pics of your kit and girls

I will, but it's going to be awhile. I had to take everything down and start over due to the infestation. I've got everything under control, but I'm starting from clones again.
I've also popped a few of my own seeds that I made. It's my first successful cross attempt. Sour Orange Diesel will be the first one I pop. Then on to some Orange Lavender. Should be interesting. If any turn out nice I may back cross them to try and bring out the better of the strains. Does anyone know about back crossing that could give some input?

Everything has been taken apart for cleaning. But really, it's not much different than yours. Tupperware chamber with a few misters. The only thing that's different is the pump which I already gave the link for. Once I get my new cuttings in I will shoot some images, but right now I gotta make sure that I get roots first.

Focus and meditate on the PAR Spectral Distribution Chart, grasshopper. It's so simple when you see the 'light'

yes PM the mod be creative i guess.... hmmm perhaps the basics should be gone over and stated clearly and early? leading into the advanced discussions? the idea here are flouro in combo with other light or in general specialty spectrums with lights. perhaps that should be the name "specialty spectrums with fluoros +"

haha, I didn't even spell the title correctly. I'm pretty new to the forum scene. I just made it so I didn't have to jump around from thread to thread just to stay in touch with you guys. But hey, let's make it interesting. I will just start a new thread when we can think of something good. I have a lot of different experiments going right now so I can put a few misconceptions away. I think everyone is running way more blue in their fixtures then they should be. My best runner has been the new one 4 red suns, 2 blue plus, 2 flora suns. And that is for veg. It may work fine for flower as well, but I really think it needs more red for flowering. My F & D just started to blast off today. I really like it when that happens after the first week of transferring the cuttings into the table. I always am like, WTF when are you going to grow? Then a week later it's like how about right now. I like having the Flora Suns in my fixture because they really make it a full spectrum without all the extra unnecessary green, yellow, and orange. I emailed Illumitex the other day to find out what and why they are using the wavelengths in their horti LED lamps. They are using 450nm, 550nm, 630nm, 660nm, and 730nm. The green is only used in small amounts and is used for plants that require more green like lettuce and shit. That's it. These people know what they are doing. They are the best LEDs for the horti scene right now. No one knows about them here in the states, but in Europe they are pretty popular already. They are scientist and they have their shit together. This Chinese LED scene in the states is bullshit and it has got to go. $4000 for a fucking Chinese made LED grow light with a bunch of bullshit 1w LEDs in 15 different bands..........what a fucking waste. There are only 5 wavelengths that matter(listed above). The way they have their matrix LEDs setup you can adjust the color output with a computer. So if you don't need the green you can dim it down. If you want more red for flower you just turn a knob. They aren't high power however, so it may get pretty spendy for a canna grow.

I hate to tell you this, but wavelengths lower than 450nm are a waste and do very little for growth. The photons just don't do shit. Indigo and Violet are only good for Terpene production, there is more than enough phototropism (spelling?) going on with the 450 or 460 wavelengths. You will see the light eventually. Deep blue Actinics are bullshit.

I'd be interested to see a link to the science behind that claim. cn

its not true but in levels most of us use 420nm in our t5 lights we are wasting elec.. mainly us par users. adn they are bullshit since that spectrum is covered sufficiently by bulbs that produce other light, basically your wasting space if your using those bulbs. as far phototrophism well he wrong ive seen it my self the plants will go for the blue light. ive had plant under 800w HID go for the T5 light in the other tent(pretty close together i leave to door open between them often)
