The Saguaro clone attempt.

The big boy fell over at my uncle’s house and luckily missed the driveway. It did a Hulk smash on the Palo Verde and took out about 50% of that innocent bystander. The body will return nutrients to the soil and create a habitat for critters, but why not keep the party going for this guy for another couple hundred years. I’m going to get the roots going crazy with some Great White before I puts it back in the ground. If it goes well, I guess I could clone the top too. Of course it’s illegal and immoral to damage a living saguaro and I would not do that ever. The dead and fallen saguaro is not protected under AZ law, but it should be left in place to benefit the ecosystem. It’s even blooming right now and I may have seed or I can get some going for friends and family as gifts. My family has lived in this area of the Sonoran Desert for over a hundred years and I would be proud to leave something as beautiful as a saguaro behind for a hundred more.
