The ULTIMATE Flowering Spectrum

Just set this up today and took a reading. I will be using this spectrum to flower my plants from now on and I know it's going to be stellar!

1000w HPS + 128w 630nm/660nm LED + 173w 410nm/440/460/630/660nm LED

The HPS is Hortilux 1000w
The LEDs are 4 x Kessil h150 Red and 2 x h350 Deep Purple

Here is the final spectrum,

wish i knew what my spectrum looked like with this 400w hps and 6bulb 5 all i know is its going on there.(or hell my other tent 120w led red dom and 400w mh)

props fonz spec looks pretty nice to flower under.

Well....you already know what A 1000w hps light will do, so it will be interesting to see the impact the additional lighting will have...most definitly....post the results of the finished product!

I just threw a new plant under it so it will be very interesting. I can't wait to see how well it works. If the theory is correct, the buds should be real compact and large.

The color to the eye is interesting to say the least. A real purpley orangey pinky kind of light. Makes my mouth water. haha

After seeing what additional Red wavelengths do for HID lighting, you never go back to just straight HID. MH or HPS. You go and plug one in and you're like, WTF is this GREEN light I use to grow under. LMAO!

Cudo's Man...those little Kessils sure kick it! Im very close to you, Running one 600 watt eye per 2- h150's Magenta's... Seems to really bring out the thrichs production but as for yeild increase...the jury is still out. Before I pull the trigger on 22 more I want to make sure they are worth it? They are pricey little fuckers...

It would be nice if they would sell them for what they are worth. But you would be better off with 2 of the h350 magentas I think. Better penetration and what not. The only reason I have the h150s was that I was teaming them up with a blue MH 175w which seemed to be the right amount. I think 4 x h350 per 1000w is the ticket in a 5 x 5 area.

Trichome production is enhanced by UVb and UV-B as the plant generates more trichomes. Under macro imaging you can see the difference in the trichomes as those grown under lamps where there is a UV-B presence, the trichomes are cut with hard sharp edges as compared to when grown under predominantly red spectrum's where there are fewer trichomes and they are kind of a lazy globular shape.

As you probably already know trichomes are the plants way of protecting the buds from these destructive wavelengths as they act as prisms to deflect the UV-B from harming the flower site. This setup misses those spectrum's. Have you given any thought to adding a metal halide or some UV-B LED's to mimic this effect?

It seems the more V, and UV + more hours, the plant freaks the fuck out. (according to my 4+ years of experimenting with LEDs)

Which is where timers come in.

A couple hours per day may be key.

I'll be looking for some beta testers in a few months time.

I'm looking into building LED lamps with a 400nm (peak) on a 2-4 hour timer for a 2014 lamp we're looking into doing. Testing is in progress now.

I think it will have a lot to play in finishing time and thricome production.

If you wanna do a "this and that" on the tele, 571-402-1555, US line...

I think he means a pontoon type setup that also has UV on it. I think that sounds counter productive. You only need maybe 10 minutes of IR at the end of your light cycle to make your plants fall asleep (assuming plants are getting enough IR throughout the day from White's, which they should be). UV would probably be "midday" during the cycle and for a couple of hours. I wouldn't mind seeing little 10-20W spotlights with both UV-B and IR on them, but I'd like to see the two bands on different schedules. Just my 2 cents.

I have tried using a MH, 250 watt black lighting flouros, both together in conjunction with my hps's and all testing didmnot produce the reseults I was looking for. My Kessils are a slightly different spectrum than he is running. The Magenta series light has a little more UV-B.

To me experimenting is part of the fun of gardening, I always have some kind of test going. You absolutly learn from failure, maybe some of these doubters should play around a little, they actually might learn something.

You cannot get UV LEDs yet (for less than like 3 grand)

I think Spheda actually has a thread about UVB supplement, in which it was put forward that there is only one specific type of t5ho uvb which is competitive. I'll try and find it if theres interest?

Peeeeersonally i'm waiting to hear the expert opinion of mr Rancho Cucamonger. He seems legit.


edit: OP, any chance of a reading with the HPS switched off? I'd love to see a visual representation of the distribution which doesnt have the average knocked out of whack by the HPS
