The wasteful packaging in the industry now is a little sickening...

I remember the good old days when you walked out of the dispensary with a ziplock baggie of cannabis, or bringing in my own mason jar like a grocery bag at a supermarket. I am all for the progression of marketing and presentation in this industry, but now with the regulations the distributors are required to package the products in a wasteful manner. A whole tin complete with printed cardboard outer wrapping just for an 1/8 of cannabis? I see the reasoning. The product needs to remain unadulterated from distributor to consumer, but isn't there a better way? Bio-degradable packaging? I would bet a lot of people just throw the packaging away without even recycling.
