I know dangerous with me.

Just got back from the Grow Shop.

Thinking changing over to Hydroponics.

Plus thinking of using it for my regular Garden.

My wife said start out slow but she isn't fun.

I advise coco, it's like the "happy medium" literally, between soil and actual hydro.

Or, get a 5gal bucket and DIY yourself a setup, TONS of videos on YouTube on that. Check out Pirateboarder Life, he's just some cool old dude who rigged up a bucket & did a full grow in a 2x2, as an absolute n00b to it himself it should give you a solid idea what to expect, see what gear he bought, etc. My advice, DON'T get the whole Advanced Nutrients line like he did, there are way cheaper options for nutes, water wetting agents etc.

I'm also debating going to coco/perlite and automating the watering. We are soil now like you, but I'm not sure automating the watering with blumats is worth it. I'm not trying to drain a reaivior out all over the floor.

You're not ready for hydro. There is no need to switch around trying different nutrients. Any basic complete nutrient will work.

Best thing you could do is stay out of the grow shop. More often than not the people working in them don't know a damn thing about growing and their goal is to sell you as many products as they can. So what different nutrients did they get you to part with your money for?

Most around here are Growers and I don't agree with everything.

This is what I got. She said I can use these with soil.

This. I won't darken the door of my local grow shop. No matter what you tell them you are doing it will be wrong and they will have a brand new product that will do it better. Last time I went in there he tried to sell me a flushing agent that was basically a big barrel of sugary water.

Slow your roll!

Change one thing per grow and learn.

I won't advise you against coco though and I learned to grow full hydro before anything else.

But just don't go jumping from one thing to another and another and stick to a simple base nutrient because all those shiny bottles with nice labels are much the same as each other.

That is what a guy was telling me on Nutes, basically they are all the same just advertising and cost.

GH 3 part is fine. I was thinking they got you to buy a dozen bottles of stuff. They did you right. I don't have the highest opinion of grow shops but there are some decent ones out there.
We went there for mainly Soil and Plant Tie.

They have Lady Bugs too.

It's nice to go every so often get fresh ideas.

We bought some different Nutes to try.

They have most I need or my Son can improvise.

Learning. So far getting half way decent grow.
Don’t mix nutrient lines until you know what you’re doing, and don’t improvise until you’ve knew what you were doing for a long while, find a line and stick to it. I’m not trying to discourage you. Hydroponics is fantastic I love it and did it for a long time. But when shit goes wrong (which it will at some points) it’s far easier to troubleshoot if ur only using one line of nutes. Good luck!

OK I've been using Gold Leaf and not real happy. My Son is using Fox Fire Nutes and doing well .
