This for all the LED haters! Is that blurple I see kicking HID butt?

They work just fine for me and other growers and they are cheaper than hps and constantly beat t5s but different strokes 4 different folks
Not at all cheaper than hps. Your 100% wrong. An now a noobie on his first grow is about to argue with somebody who's used burples, several differant kinds, and hps, for YEARS.
Fucking hilarious.

View attachment 4166505 This beats blpurple Just need another to replace the other one way brighter.... blpurple put out good buds just not much of it and no canopy penetration
so 298 is cheaper than 150?

It's not simply China vs us made. Burples are a bad product. USA made or China made burples sick. They arnt worth the money, dont live up to any of the claims. They literally are a scam.

To put it in car terms, they are marketing a Honda as a Lamborghini. Yes it will drive down the road. But everyone will laugh at you, and you wont get into the party

15 gal and I wanted bigger plants I’m patient doesn’t bother me
Sure.

Want bigger plants but keep topping them.

That makes no sense. I get topping once or twice. After that it's a waste. You would be better off topping once or twice and then start weaving those limbs through the netting.

Its just makes no sense. They would grow more limbs and fill in if you left them be.

You don't want them that tall or you won't get penetration.

Also think about this. If you would have flipped 8-10 weeks ago you would be chopping about now and starting the next round.

Vegging that long is wasteful.

What do you recommend

If your set on LEDs theres the Samsung strips or quantum boards. They honestly cost the same as burples and are at least 2x as good. Theres some prebuilt fixtures on Ebay for about 1$ per watt, or you can build your own for pretty cheap, theres a ton of threads here on it and it's easier than youd think.

Personally though I love hps, I could buy a new bulb, ballast, hood, fan and ducting for about $300, and then 60$ electric to yield a lb.

An in 18 weeks of veg you could have harvested nearly 2 times already with hps.

Burple grows slowly, and does small plants. I bought a burple and learned this the hard way. Burple is a great suppliment light to hps though and I highly recommend you use the burple WITH a hps

I will look into the quantum boards I’m not ready to deal with the heat from hps and they can interfere with ham radios

Your half right there.
Electronic ballasts interfere with ham radios and I also do no recommend them. Magnetic ballasts are tried and true, and will work for much longer than a eballast.
Magnetic ballasts cost just under $100 for a 1000 watt light. A super hps hortilux bulb is just under $60.

And it's important to know a watt is a watt, it does not matter if its led or hps, it's the same heat. The led companies have ran a disinformation campaign that they "run cooler" they do not. A 1000 watt led panel will be as hot as a 1000 watt hps, will be as hot as a 1000 watt heater. It's all the same. The research has been done, it's just facts.

The idea that led runs cooler is based around the lie that "300 watts led = 1000 watts hps" again, this is a lie.
