I'm in the middle of 2 consecutive days of heavy rains and downpour, so i'll be damned if after all that love, affection, time and energy that i put into my plant this year, that i'm going to let all those trichomes get washed away just 3 day before harvest. >:(>:(>:(

I therefore threw together this quick, makeshift rain shelter last night to hold out until the weekend.

It's the night time Temps im worried about. It drops down to 53F, with the day time still averaging around a nice 75F. Im gonna try and push it, then, and put a thick layer of mulch down to protect the root system, as the ol' girl looks very healthy still, and doesn't seem to be effected yet by the cool nights.

Anyone else have experience around these temperature ranges?
53 is nothing imo

I’ve never heard of trichs being washed away must of been one hell of a storm….
We had another storm here about 2 weeks ago, with hail, downpours and close to gale-force winds, and almost all the trich's got washed away. I just about cried. the buds and leaves had to start all over again. luckily they did (as the temps up here in canada are dropping at night), and now just a couple of days before harvest another 2-day downpour? sorry, ain't gonna happen again. :hump:

yeah, i'm finding that out. thanks for the advice to keep on growing. <thumbs up>
it's gotten as low as 49 one night, and getting down to 50 now, on average, and the plant's still looking healthy and happy, and I'm getting nice progress with the buds and trich's.

There has been frost here for over a month now, it barely hurt the plants but about a week ago there was a freeze that lasted around 3hrs and it decimated tons of leaf material. Nothin major except it made the garden look like shit since most of the fans got all crazy wilted. Nightime temp here has been no higher than 47f for over a month. The Frost's and the cold nights didn't hurt the plants, just slowed down flowering. but that freeze omfg. Nothing like going outside to see crazy crystals on your buds only to look again and it's NOT trichomes but gigantic ice crystals. Buds, sugars and a few fans survived. Freeze killed the hairs so there's another week to recover. But all in all I've got probably 10lbs harvested and 9x to go. (Had 17). But last 9 won't be done until mid October so more Frost's and freezes to come.

the deluge was nowhere as bad as forcasted (but, it's always better to be safe than sorry).
removed the plywood and boards this morning, and Lord, sweet sugar. :weed:

Last of the Crystal candy should be going into curing jars today. Will give a weight total for crystal candy when last bit of crystal candy is ready for cure.

Well. If you have to harvest early. You have to. But pointless IMO. Good luck
Mny thnx, man. Took your advice and she' still growing and healthy, even though the nights are now dropping down to 8C/46F.
Calyx's have also now fully developed, and the density of the trichomes is incredible.

Thnx again. <two thumbs-up >

Ya as long as it doesn't freeze or have frost that sits a long time your plants will survive right down to a degree above freezing. The only thing that happens is once the temperature hits 54 it stops all growth and pretty much goes dormant until the temp hits 55 again. (This increases flower time).

Plants are looking good.

Harvested all of the crystal candy and gorilla girl. Tropicanna poison, white widow & blueberry still going (9x plants).

Drying room is completely filled and a makeshift drying room was made and filled.

Crystal candy and gorilla girl drying bud (yes leaf material was left behind to extend the drying time)

How do you like the gorilla girl? I just popped a freebie seed from sweet seeds.
