I don't see thrips either.
If that was fresh ffof it sure looks like a bad bag with tons of wood chips.
You say you are watering when dry. Perlite looks awful yellow for being in use for a week. soil has a saturated look to it as though it has been kept to wet.
Put drainage holes in the cup to allow water to drain out the bottom if you do not have drainage holes.

Nope i don't see thrips either

yea that soil looks like it's staying too wet and just looks crappy overall...i mean look at the big piece of driftwood next to the poor little seedling - i think i see a frog sitting on top of it

try royal gold tupur for seedlings - nice and aerated and it dries out pretty quick even if you over-do-it....water only until you see those first set of leaves turn yellow on the bottom

and if you do get thrips (which it doesn't look like you have) try Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew - Lowe's, home depot all the big stores have it - it's got spinosad in it and it'll take care of those imaginary thrips

I seen a similar issue at the end of this thread, he said his had big chunks of red wood he had to break down:

FFOF totally changed something up - it's like topsoil now - stays wet forever and the plants hate it - and i used it for years but just in veg - i liked it because i didn't have to feed for a while - it's totally unaerated now - i'd say this happened over the last year or 2 - crappy frog is just as bad now also - tried that out afterwards....terrible soil now

As growers, I think we need to start shooting back at Monsanto and let the grow stores know we don't want their products anymore, and invest our money in other companies that pride themselves in their products. Its worth spending the extra money with a different company, you get back your investment.

The forums are littered with nutrient toxicity issues from FFOF, no one tells their customers the product is hotter than raw dog shit. Instead they sell them bottles of nutrients to go with it. Now they can't even be bothered with mixing the soil half way decent or breaking down wood chips.

The industry is getting pretty sickening. They have all our new recruits growing autoflowers and bloating the blurple market because its the only thing you can run for 20+ hours for budding without killing them financially. They get shit yields then drop out of the game, one less producer for the underground market and a win for the corporations. The blurple market is like a cancer on the back of the LED industry.

I feel myself about to go on a rant I better go smoke one.

i don't think monsanto took over fox farms - that was fake news

ive never burned plants with FFOF and i transplanted freshly rooted clones into it - and i used it for about 9 years - but i have seen ppl on the forums claim it burned their plants....i didn't start feeding until about 4 to 6 weeks after transplant - so maybe they were feeding too? idk

but yea whatever screw em - now im all royal gold which im pretty happy with

i used to use Manna Mix from Vital Earth - that was my favorite all-time but i cant get it anymore :-(

If you think you may have some thrips, just lay a blue sticky trap on your pots, and check it the next day. If you have any thrips, they will be stuck on there.

Thrip larvae can be present in any soil that contains "forest products" like Foxfarm uses.

Ok, it might be a rumor I thought was true. If Monsanto doesn't own them, then they have no excuse for downgrading their products lol.

Hey man can you help me out with this ? Is this pm or some type of disease ? I took the seedling out of the tent as soon as I saw it. Last night I added a zip lock bag on top of it to raise rh , and the seedling seems to like it , i just don't know what happened. I didn't water it i swear , this just appeared when I saw it today. 20200925_000652.jpg

Nah that's just some mold on your dirt - nothing to worry about - it happens - just mix it up a little bit right there, it should go away - or scoop it out if ya want
